Saturday Symmetry and stuff

A month or so ago I used this same apartment building on Symmetry Saturday.
Last week we took the trail that ran by the building and stairs.  I think these photos are better.

Jackie, Mum to, Angels Eric and Flynn, sent me an email asking what that thing was that looked like the Michelin man.  I had to look again.  It was the lamp post below.  And even up clos it looks like the Michelin Man Jackie!!

Cherry Tree blooms are pretty and pink on the tree
not on the sidewalk.  They stick you your shoes.  I wear New Balance 990 to walk.
These pink blooms get into every nook and cranny.

Dearest Auntie HiC

It’s hard to believe, today, April 30th is my Gotcha Day! 😻
This is the first picture Mom took of me, and she posted it on Facebook, hoping to find my owners.

I think I’m a lucky kitty to have found my way to Mom, but she says she’s the lucky one. Life is good❣️❣️❣️

(The voice on video is from TikTok, not Mom. πŸ˜‰)

And now I have a K9 brudder

Now I have two furever homes:
one stick and mortar one on wheels that we all travel in!!

Hugs from Rocky, your ginger nephew aka the 2nd luckiest kitty in the family...Kat is first MOL.

Dearest Rocky,

I cannot believe it has almost been a year...but then when I type that it seems like you have been in your furever home....furever!!

Lovingly your Auntie HiC

On April 13, I received an email and photos from my dear friend Annette. I knew the very moment I saw the photos I would use them on Nature Friday.  Followed by Final (non) Fiction Friday

Hey!  During one of our visits with you, while living in Durham, we saw your beautiful ajuga growing next to your sidewalk.  We have been growing it ever since we moved to our home in Richmond.   It is doing well!!

Look at our funny bluebird box!

Our precious little bluebirds have hatched, and mama and daddy are busy getting worms for them!  I am thrilled! No hummingbirds yet! Love Annette

My email reply: Ohhhhh your ajuga is gorgeous and standing tall and proudly showing off its colors!  Ajuga is such an adaptable and reliable plant.
That is an adorable bluebird house.  Mrs. BB had to have been very impressed with the real estate Mr. BB found for her.
We see the male ruby throated usually early morn an just before dark.  Next time I see him I’ll be sure to tell him to send his buddies your way
Love Cecilia

The Story of US.

Annette and I have been friends for 60 years. We met in 9th grade.  We  have shared many special Moments over the years Annette and I have million things in common, especially our love of bluebirds and hummingbirds.
Each year in mid March we began
our annual Hummingbird watch.  As soon as either of us see one we send each other an email that reads, "it is time to do our Happy Hummingbird Dance."πŸ’ƒ  Last week April 9th, 2021 I had my first hummingbird sighting.
This beautiful humming bird bench is located at Louis Ginter Botanical Gardens we visited with Annette and her husband in 2014.

It isn't often, at our age, to have a friend who knew each other's parents.
I have two such friends.  Annette is one of them.

Now for a short story from our 16th year
Annette is one month other than I am; however, I got my driver's license first.
After several months of extra practice of driving with my Daddy, our parents agreed that Annette and I could take our first solo outing together.  She made us supper at her house (delicious meatloaf, veggies and biscuits)  then we were going to a movie.
We had just pulled off her street onto a main street.
All of a sudden, around the corner came a fire truck with the sirens screaming and the lights blinking.  She asked: what do we do, I said, we have to pull over.  This scenario was not one my Daddy and I had practiced. However, I successfully moved to the curb without scraping the tires or jumping the curb and neither one of us fainted from fright. It scared about 10 years off our lives.

On Monday, April 26th, Annette called to tell me she and Steve were coming to N.C. to see her sister.  She asked if it would be convenient for they to come by to see US.  I said Absolutely!!!!  At the time I wrote the above short story for FFF I had no idea I'd be seeing my precious friend this week.

Happy 14th Gotcha day to Frankie

Hidey Ho my friends near and far
Howly Squirrel Snot time flies at mach Dach(shund) speed when you are having fun.  I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed.  I still like to dig holes that is my exercise.
Ernie is good too; however, he is being forced  to take walks on all fours
(not in the no walking wagon).  I'm a good brudder so I won't dare say anything about Ernie's ample DachTush.

I made Mom promise no water torture this week even if I get my paws muddy from digging!! My wishes will be her commands this week.  Oh
I did request a joy ride in Joy our Jeep.  Mom said okey dokey pokey!!

Mom is good too she gets an award for best Dachshund mom. She prepares the bestest food albeit sometimes they are served at 4:01 PM instead of 4:00 PM.
We don't have a 'puter anymore but every now and them you might see us on the Book of Faces.

shredded beef & white gravy for supper.

Ernie, Mom and I send our love and greetings to you all
Sincerely
Frankie Furter PriceπŸ’ž

Lana aka Mom to Frankie and Ernie shared the below story about Frankie's Gotcha day.  Thank you Lana.

We had 16 year old Baron.  He was a black & tan SHORT/SMOOTH hair.   He had gone deaf couldn't play ball any longer and was confused by those things.   He was not happy any longer.
We talked it over and THAT decision was made.   I took that Monday off.   We swore we would NEVER go through that pain again.

The rest of the story:

I went to school on Tuesday thinking I was doing FINE.
Apparently I was NOT doing as well as I thought BECAUSE.
On WEDNESDAY there were 5 teachers, the Janitor & Secretary all waiting at the front door.    They all had notes with places that had dachshund pups for sale.
I called all the places and settled on looking at 3 pups over the weekend.
The 1st place we went was in Lancaster Ohio.   The lady had 3 puppies the mother and FRANKIE.
Frankie was 11 mos old.   The lady was HOPING he would GROW to meet breed standards so she could SHOW him.   He stayed tiny.
Butch & I both fell in love with him INSTANTLY.
We went outside & talked.   Went in and said we wanted to buy him.   She said no at first & tried to push a pup ...   We said NO...
She had named him Tiny Tim (Timmy).  We said it was Timmy or none.
Butch was holding him the whole time.
  She finally said YES.
Butch said, "PAY HER"  And he carried TIMMY to the Jeep.
I paid & she & I signed his Registration papers and I raced out.
We changed his name to FRANKIE FURTER PRICE on the way home.
He had never had a collar on.  Never been on a leash and never in a vehicle.
         He learned everything very quickly.
Butch always called Frankie his CHIC MAGNET.   When he walked Frankie women were always stopping and asking to pet THE PUPPY.   Both of them LOVED the attention. πŸ˜†

And this is how Timmy became Frankie!!  Frankie 14 years ago today was the first day of the BEST days to come in your FUREVER home

Extra Happy Birthday Tuesday

Hosted by Comedy Plus

Today is my husband's birthday.

Yesterday were invited to his brother, Greg's house for a birthday lunch.  It was also our very first social gathering with them in about 16 months.  All 4 of us were fully vaccinated by February.  Karen, our sister in law, served chicken salad, pasta salad, fresh strawberries and bakery croissant rolls.  There was cherry pie topped with Breyer's Vanilla Ice Cream.  A very good time was had by alll

Howard was very excited to see people other than his humans.  He will be 13 this year.  Shiba Inus are often referred to as cat like.  He doesn't bark.  I love his little curly tail, that means he is very happy.  Every so often it looks like a regular tail but he can curl it up in a heart beat.

Below, I share Madi's very first happy birthday to her Dad,on our Blog

Awww Monday and Sparks

Murphy and Stanley asked me to say thanks for  greetings to all who said Hi on yesterday's post. They tried to leave a message under each comment you left.

Now for Awww Monday and Sparks

Hosted by Comedy Plus

On a recent walk thru our neighborhood I spotted this adorable little village surrounding a neighbor's mailbox. I tried to zoom in on different parts of it in the collage.  The sunflower is the roof of a home...there are lots of little critters around it.  Behind the sunflower I think there are two kitties perched on the wrought iron post.  In the bottom photos you'll spy a yellow sliding board.  A Lady bug is about to slide down.  There is a red wagon with a critter.

There is a little bridge too

This made me smile which sent me on a search for a
Sparks for today

McGuffy’s who was hosting the Sparks is on hiatus. We continue to share positive vibes via our SPARKS

She says “I truly do believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. There is hope. Together, we can light up the entire world!

Selfies from the Road: Murphy and Stanley

  Hidey Ho friends,
Murphy and Stanley here from
Lake Meade RV park.  We talked our peeps into a short (500 miles)
in Windy our big wheelie house. We decided to pose here in front of twin palms as the sunset over Lake Meade.

The week flew by literally it was a very very windy week.  Nearly blew the staff off their bikes.

Time to head home, we are secured to our bed seat belts.  We have different riding styles.

Stanley you wanna sing a travelin' song

Big wheels keep on rollin'?

Nope brudder my stuffies and I are tired.
