Symmetry Saturday

This photo is full of symmetry.
The 'well' for looks only, is very pleasing to my mind's eye.
The shed seen thru the well was a bonus symmetry shot.
Both are located in the same yard.

I pass it on one of my neighborhood walks. It is two blocks from Cody's house.

NATURE AND FELINE FRIDAY

Thank you to our hostesses

Nature Friday host LLB Gang  and Feline Friday  host Comedy Plus

Each time I walk by this house in my neighborhood, I'm drawn to the color.

Last week's blue skies and the Red Barn style home were breathtaking

This beautiful display of buttie pillars (a word I learned from Princess Leah)
at Logan's Garden Shop
(Heads up remember this photo you might see it again in another setting)

I cropped the photo then over to to LunaPic for the blurred frame effect.

 Feline Flashback from 2010
Madi always remembered the kitties who paved the way to our hearts

Photo taken December 22, 1996
Cali da Cornish Rex my first grandcat in front
Milky-Way da Tabby our first cat behind Cali
I didn't witness how they did this. This ranks up there with one of my
best happy accident photos.

This window perch was really only for one cat but they found a way to share it and there was never a harsh meow between them.

M

Thank you all for your kind comments regarding yesterday's post HERE

So many good thoughts/questions about the photos.  I sure do wish I knew the answers.  I only recently found the two photos of my Mom and my Aunt. Aunt Ruth's pose cracks me up she was such a hoot.
I bet whatever the event was, she was dragged kicking and screaming to get dressed like that. Unfortunately there are no living family members who might know the answers.

Bertie wonder how my mom's brother managed living with  six sisters.
I do know the answer to that question:

Evidently my maternal Grandfather had a real sense of humor.
I'm told when anyone asked how he was doing, he would pause then say, "Well I'm having female trouble, "I have a wife, six daughters and a female dog"!  I'm guessing my uncle felt the same way.

Thoroughly Poetic and Thankful Thursday #56

     Two SPOILED CATS,

Angel Sammy and Teddy find such inspiring photos for us

Here is today's inspiration

As soon as I saw it, several very old photos of female family members popped into my head.

Below I have a photo of my mom, Lou and her sister Ruth.
Aunt Ruth was my favorite aunt.

Ruth and Lou
were quite a duo.
The youngest of seven
Four older sisters, one brother.
Oh my heavens
their Mom's age was 42 and 44
Surely she had no thoughts
for two more.
Ruth was a hoot.
She was known to find fun/trouble.
Lou was a peace maker
always ready to take up for Ruth.
As for me, I think I have the best of
Ruth and Lou
Especially my gift of GAB
from both of THEM.

 Today I am also joining

Today I'm thankful for a this photo challenge.
It gave me the opportunity to fondly remember
Ruth and Lou.

While looking thru the pictures,
I found a poem written by Aunt Ruth.
She was a very good cook.  Known for many signature dishes.
Especially her most famous Chocolate Pound Cake
made from scratch.
Christmas 1974 she wrote this poem about this cake.
Maybe I inherited some of her poetry skills.

Wordless Wednesday Flashback

Madi had more adventures than a Diva could ever have imagined.

I found this beautiful Cat's Prayer online author unknown who 100% understood
the Feline Mind.
It reminded me of Madi

Happy Tuesday Tall Tale from Rocky

Dearest Auntie HiC I had a great adventure.
Mom heard me meowing in the dining room, but she could not find me.  Kat looked up and then Mom saw me!!!😹

This is a  Happy Tuesday Tall Tale BECAUSE
my mom came to my rescue.  She used a step stool to retrieve me!
Mom is this Ginger Rocketman's bestie!!!💓💋

I might have promised mom I would not do this again?!!
I told her I just wanted to see if I could...you know about curiosity and cats?!
😻
A Ginger Rocketman never reveals his secrets.
Do any of you have any ideas?

Lovingly your Ginger Nephew Rocky!!

Dearest Ginger Nephew...first and foremost I must say you look very handsome
in spite of your location.  Auntie thinks you were on the edge of the table.
You engaged your hidden jet propelled fanny pack and up you went!!  You must have made a very soft landing...none of mom's pretty dishes were dislodged!!
Should you ever decide to take your high flying act on the road, Auntie would love to be your road manager.

Awww Monday and Sparks: Cody

 Thank you to our

Host Comedy Plus

Awww warm days make for cozy Cody naps

Recently on a trek thru the 'hood, I approached Cody's home from the top of the hill....this is what I saw.  Cody was in his deep sleep mode he didn't hear me.  When I approach from the bottom of his sidewalk, he always sees me and will get up slowly awaiting some loving.

I was very quiet as I got closer.
As I went to the front, I think he knew I was there. His  tail started to happily greet me.  I told him not to get up...

I bent down to look into his beautiful chocolate eyes while rubbing his velvety head.  I gives me such great pleasure to know this gentle dog.  He was adopted from a shelter when he was about a year old.  That was certainly the best day of the rest of his 13+ years.

Seeing Cody is an Awww day filled with Sparks
