Thank you to our

We thank our Hostess Sandee at

Interior photos

Beautiful Mural inside

We ordered take out but as you can see

Dining is pleasant inside or out

Are you noticing all the R E D?

We both ordered  small Hook and Ladder on wheat

Bryan ordered as is

I don't like raw onions or shredded lettuce (it is too messy)

They were absolutely delicious no complaints at all

The menu is packed full of choices this is the

Hot Subs Selection

This was not our first time here, it is about 3 miles from home in a pleasant area with trees.

We will go back....LOTS....so much to try.

  2. Trying here to figure out why the dish is called 'Hook and Ladder'??

  3. That looks a great place, and the murals are lovely. There is a good choice of subs. I would also leave out the lettuce and subs. I can't eat raw onion and I don't like rabbit food!

Like Gail, I initially wondered the name... But realised it's to do with firefighting equipment. Glad you enjoyed both food and surrounding! YAM xx

  5. Their hot subs are yummy - way better than Subway. I haven't tried their cold ones, though.

  6. What a nice looking place. I love the mural. The subs look good too. They sure have a big menu to offer.

  7. Those do look yummy, but of course, dad has to have his say; Firehouse, Jimmy Johns, Subway, etc. are all okay, but the best he's had are D'Angelos and the bestest ever is a tiny little hole-in-the-wall mom & pop joint up in Winchester, NH (that's likely no longer there) called he forgot what.

  8. Your lunches look delicious and mom is with you - hold the raw onions!

  9. Looks like a fun place to eat and I do believe we have some restaurants in Ohio by the same name. But we have not stopped in one maybe we should.

  10. Dearest Cecilia,
That is a very nice set up inside–and outside and the red chairs make sense for the Firehouse!
No doubt it is fun to go there for a bite.

  11. We don't have one near us. Meatball is usually my go to sandwich when in a sandwich restaurant .

  12. I have never had a Firehouse sub. We love subs... no on Subway thank you. We have Firehouse subs and we will give them a try based on your critique. Our favorite subs are Pub Subs (Publix). I noticed the RED right away! I am a no raw onion peep too. Now I want a sub for breakfast!

  15. We enjoy a good firehouse sub every now and again...Ed is a big fan of the meatball sub, and I like their tuna salad.

  16. I will really have to go back. When I was first there..not long after they opened here...maybe 15 years ago...the calorie count was out of the stratosphere. I see that is no longer true. I will try going back. (I love red too).

  19. Mom thinks there is one here but not sure where. Our silly Dad still likes Subway. Mom thinks Jimmy Johns does a great job, but they are pricey. Glad you found one you like

  20. We haven't seen those, but if we ever get one, my Sweetie will be among the first in line once he hears about it. There's nothing quite like a good, big sandwich.

  21. Fire House subs is my favorite sub place. My son prefers Subway, so that's where we usually end up. Next time....
