Mom had another sleepless night, but she takes pleasure in watching me doze, in my oblivious state of slumber. 💤💤💤

She says I talk in my sleep, or l need to have my adenoids removed! 😹

Turn up volume please!

Dearest Adorable Niece Cali

MOL  MOL Cali OMCs that is quite an interesting feline snore maybe 1/2 mew and 1/2 snore. I loved how you woke up quickly then all of a sudden your eyes and head got very heavy and back to sleep you went. I am purrty sure Mom and Auntie (and our friends) would love to know the secret to your ability to sleep so soundly
Lovingly Auntie HiC

Nature facts from NC and a few photos.
Recently Auntie's NCRGEA (North Carolina Retired Government Employee's Association)
monthly magazine arrived. It always has some fun puzzles etc in it.  This month it was
A Fall 2024 Word Search
"All Things North Carolina"
They wrote a sentence with facts about NC things then you had to find it.
I'll be sharing them this month

Today I'm sharing two

1. NC state's Salamander, the Marbled Salamander, gets its name from the white or gray bands across its back and sides.  It received the title in 2013
Photo from NC Wildlife site

About the Marbled Salamander

The Marbled Salamander, or Ambystoma Opacum, can be found throughout North Carolina. It is a striking, chunky amphibian, sometimes called the ‘banded’ salamander because of the white bands around its body. Males have silver bands that turn white during breeding to attract a mate. Females are larger, and have silver bands. Every Marbled Salamander has a unique color pattern

2.  NC's state wildflower is the Carolina Lily, typically blooms in July thru August. The flower which has beautiful yellowish to reddish orange and brown spotted blooms received the title in 2003.

About the Carolina Lily

Lilium michauxii, commonly known as the Carolina lily,[4] can be found in the southeastern United States from southern Virginia in the north to the Florida Panhandle in the south to eastern Texas in the west.[5] Blooming is most common in July and August but can occur as late as October. It was named for the French botanist André Michaux, who traveled and did extensive research throughout the Southeast.[6]

October 26, 2024 we went back...the food is always delicious...but this time we dined inside.  The art/photography work is by local artist. The tables and booths are very comfortable (outside dining was a bit challenging.

The chairs were too low for the table.  We could have used booster seats.

My lunch was a combo half a tuna sandwich and a side of pasta.  Very delicious.

Bryan selected their signature Fried Green tomato BLT with pimento cheese

Here is a description of the sandwich.

Dearest Niece Cali you and Daddy taking synchronized catnaps.  He is quite talented to be able to sleep forward...my head always dangles backwards or to the side.  Sweet Dreams from your Auntie HiC
