Thanks to YAM for fueling my urge to crochet
Last Saturday I mentioned that I took 4 of my 7" squares out of the line up.
The squares were 7" but due to heavier yarn and stitches I used the squares were too large.

I had two sage green squares that were too large.
My American Southern Scotch/Irish genes were screaming at me
WASTE not WANT not
I crocheted them two together making a nice pot holder or hot mat
5 rows of 4. They are joined together and I'm now
working on the border. Stay tuned!!!!
That’s very clever of you. They will make great pot holders. Looking forward to seeing your completed Afghan. Great photo of your friend’s house and enlarged to see the cute little dogs. Happy Sunday :)
ReplyDeleteHow smart you are to double up for a handmade hot mat or pot holder! We can't wait to see your afghan progress!
ReplyDeleteI have several crocheted pot holders. First of all they come in very handy. And it was a good use for your squares. Can't wait to see your finished blanket. I love the picture of the house with the Christmas lights and I see two sweet puppy dogs on the front porch. But I suspect I don't know who they are.

ReplyDeleteGood idea crocheting those two squares together.
Can't wait to see your finished afghan
Remember when my sweet Aunt tried so hard to teach me to crochet, to knit ... but my fumbling-fingers never quite "got it" and today, decades later they are worse than ever ... am so envious of all of you who can do this so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteThat was a good idea with the squares. That is a nice looking house.
ReplyDeleteIs that Murphy and Stanley on the porch? I sure miss hearing about how they are doing. That's a good use of the extra squares. I can't wait to see the afghan you put together.

ReplyDeleteYour squares crocheted together make a great hot pad! I am, of course, staying tuned for all afghan news. I don't know the two pups but I like their house!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! You’re talented & clever! 😉
ReplyDeleteWho are the adorable pups?
That was a very clever idea to use those squares for a potholder. Durable and pretty too.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that commenter above is right, Murphy and Stanley?

ReplyDeletePotholders/hot pads are a great way to use up extra squares. I'm sure the afghan is going to be wonderful.
I have been blogging forever but...I don't know whose house that is or who the dogs are. :-(
