Below is a photo from a book I found at the library:
Crochet in a Weekend by Salena Baca
29 quick to stitch sweaters, tops and shawls and more

This is my next project
FYI: I will not complete in a weekend.
MOL MOL

OMCs I used an H crochet hook for the 7" Afghan squares.
This project I'll use a L hook.  It took me a few days to get accustomed to the much larger hook.

TIP  at the top of the pattern reads:
This style fits best when it's oversized and it should look and feel like a blanket.
Below is are the first 8 rows, of the back.
The yarn is Yarn Bee soft & sleek low pill fiber.
Color is Melissan

There are 3 pieces to the vest is
Back has 43 rows
Two front panels are 44 rows.
I will keep you posted.

  2. I love the color that you've chosen and I think it'll be a beautiful vest. And warm. I'm slowly taking a few stitches on mine, but there's always so much going on here at home I only get a few minutes it seems. Happy Saturday

  4. Mine Mommy lowers her head in shame. She went to a crochet class a week ago. All the ladies (and one gentleman!) made a nice long strip-of-work just like your picture. Mommy made one that was barely a raggedy-inch long, and a half-inch of it had been started by the teacher! She is fumblefingers with this ... purrhaps not to be her thing we think ...

  5. I like the looks of that and I love the yarn your using. This will be awesome for those cold winter days and nights.
Love the picture in your header. So cute.

  6. I love the color you picked out and can't wait to see it finished. You are not alone in not being able to finish it in a weekend. I can never keep up with how fast some people crochet.
