Saturday Symmetry

While I was taking photos of the adorable red door on yesterday's post, HERE,
I took the opportunity to snap a photo of this lovely home, which is across the street from the 'red door'.
It is  full of Symmetry.
The arched porch, the stone wall of the porch the beautiful chimney 1/2 brick and 1/2 stone
The beveled windows on the left side of the home are absolutely gorgeous when the sun shines through them. They reflect so many colors.  I know this, because I attended a bridal shower there at least 45 years ago.  They are the dining room windows.  The  table was full of delightful refreshments. The front of the home is exactly as it was all those years ago.  It has been cared for and loved.  It is a sturdy home.  The current residents have added an addition to the back
In the spring this year is full of Daffodils too.

In OZ, I once lived for some time in a similar build. This style of home down there is referred to as "California Bungalow" architecture! I think over your way, it is more often called "American Craftsman" style. I loved that place, so I am not surprised this one stuck in your memory so clearly! YAM xx

  8. That is a very pretty house. Mom loves a brick house. And the stone walls lining the lawn are so nice.
