and boots..(I took a double dose of Geritol too).  Now it is time for a little boot scoot boogie.

FEBRUARY 14, 1970
As you can see, Mom's love of red has been lifelong.  Her attendants
wore red dresses
PEOPLE OFTEN SAY AHHHHH WHEN WE TELL THEM OUR ANNIVERSARY IS 
FEBRUARY 14TH.  We always say thanks to USMC they helped us with the date.

At the time my husband was in USMC Reserves (United States Marine Corp) . They had monthly reserve drills.
Shortly after our August 1969 engagement we decided to get married in February 1970. My husband started trying to find the exact date of the Feb. 1970 drill weekend.
Days turned in to weeks then a few months passed.  Still no date from the USMC.  We had lots of reservations to book so we selected February 7, 1970, 2 pm.  Lo and behold literally 
hours before I was going to mail the wedding invitations to the printer we found out the February 1970  drill was going to be on February 7, 1970.  We made an 'about face' (pun intended) called all the folks we had reservations with to see if we could change to 
February 14, 1970.  Thankfully everyone was A ok with the change.  Our church had another wedding on 2/14/70 at 2 pm.  We changed out time to 4 pm.

We thank the USMC for helping us choose the

day of Love for our Wedding Day.

This is my blog I get to go first.

How do I know this?  We'll that is easy.  I am fortunate to have 87 dog friends.  They tell me I am lovable.  Dogs are smart

in my life until I met my dear sweet husband...who was raised with C A T S.  So I think  I have enough experience to speak on this subject. Thanks to his love of felines, I, too, learned

quickly how loving and sweet they are; however, they are often 

misunderstood. 

MUST LOVE CATS T SHIRT

Many feline traits are misconstrued for snobbery.  I'd like to break this down into a few obvious categories.

1. Greetings of love:

Nine times out of ten cats do not greet you as enthusiastically as dogs.  They (because they want to be the center of attention) wait until you have entered the house, removed you coat and your hands are free then they come sashaying in the room, circling around your legs, purr boxes turned on high you feel the love.

2. Body language
a.Affection:
-Did you know when a cat blinks at you it is a sign of affection. You should immediately return the blink slowly.

I love you Mom, now will you feed me?

They  are saying I love you now where is my food.
-When a cat's tail is flying high in the shape of a ? (question mark) that is a sign of confidence and friendliness.

Cat tail trivia:  Mine is 10" long

has a 14" tail.We were asked to measure our tail.

-Cats mainly speak Felinese but they have several dialects.
b.Loving dialect:
The gentle squeak of a meow is music to their owner's ears.
It means all is well in their world and their furbabes are happy.
Then there is the you are in trouble but I love you anyway dialect: very long drawn out high pitched meeeeeoooooowww.  It always means their staff has not done something in at timely fashion. 
Song of their people: this is reserved for trips in the car and is spoken 1st soprano and often continues when they return home.
c. Sign language: Kneading
Did you know cats are superb bakers? Yep you haven't lived until you have had a cat in your lap lovingly making biscuits. This is the up and down movement they make with their front paws as if kneading dough.  They learn this motion as kittens.  When nursing, it helps their mom's milk flow quickly. It is all about food all the time.
d. Now for our personal experience of love from our sweet Madi.
Madi's dad and I know she loves us but in different ways.  She has Morning rituals she only shares with her Dad. At least 3 days a week she sits on the bathroom counter while he shaves and stays there through out his shower.  All she gets in return is lots of loving strokes and her Dad has secret conversations with her.
On the mornings she is not with her Dad, Madi sits by my left hand while I eat breakfast.  She is always purring and is always head butting my hand for a noggin rub.  Now the return for this loving action is always a few CheeriOs.  When Madi's Dad and I are both upstairs working on our individual hobbies, Madi sits smack dab in the middle of the hall so she can see both of us....and every so often she will move to a sun puddle or check on us to make sure we are ok not doing something fun that she might need to snoopervise.

NOW FOR THE ONE BIG THING YOU MUST REMEMBER WHEN LOVING A CAT......

As you might recall, Hizznor Judge Frankie

decreed no flashy beast between 10-3

 If the sun is shining in my dining room window....

it is between 10 and 12, which, according to my calculations,

falls smack in the middle of 10am-3pm.

 Mom decided not to heed the strict 

mandate by Hizznor Frankie; therefore,

I had to take matters into my paws.

Either I ignore her and her attempts the plastic

cap wrapping off the Listerine bottle, which she stuck to the chair is one of my fav things to get me to look.  I might add it was very tempting. 

or I call for back up!!!

SOMETIMES IT IS HARD BUT 

TOUGH LOVE WORKS!!!

SOMETIMES....

...you have to greet your stalker with a smile...

look her in the eye...

...give her your best tilty head pose...with an outstretched leg to get her to move on.

  I have deliberated long and hard on the charges.   There are Three of them.   

TRIBULATIONS 1-3
TODAY I'D LIKE TO  REPORT MOM'S RESPONSE TO THE VERDICTS
BELOW!!  MY REPORT IS IN RED!!

1.   I therefore find that Madi was CHEATED outta a Fine Box.
    I am sentencing Miss Cecilia to a trip behind the mall for a session of Dumpster Diving.
JUDGE   FRANKIE TO DATE MOM HAS MADE NO EFFORT AT RIGHTING THIS WRONG!!  THE ONLY DUMPSTER-LIKE THING I'VE SEEN HER NEAR IS OUR 
90 gallon curb side City Trash can!!

2. The Stalking of Madi... 
     I am placing Miss Cecilia to a DAILY Pawbation period...  NO Stalking from 10 AM to 3 PM...  Pawsitively NO Flashy Beast used during those hours...  the Pawbation period will be for the period of 8 or 7 days from today...   
Judge Frankie she has completely ignored your mandate of no stalking from 10am -3pm
I had the flashy monster set to time stamp but she tampered with my setting. Thus I have no proof.

       3.  RELENTLESS and REPEATED refusal to prepare Madi's Supper in a timely fashion... 
      I sentence her to pawceed to the KITCHEN STORE, where she is to procure a TIMER...   Timer to be SET fur 87 minutes from the End of the No Stalking time daily.   This is to continue fur 8 or 7 days.. or until Miss Cecilia can PROVE that she WILL serve Madi   her supper ON TIME.   

Judge Frankie I am happy to report Mom aka Miss Cecilia took this mandate to heart...she
made a special trip to our Kitchen searched high and low....finally found her  87 year old timer

TIMER

I checked to be sure it was set to 87 minutes....she cheated it was not.  Mom says it can only be set to 60 minutes

Upon closer inspection the ticking noise coming from
the timer and the diiiiiing it made was more aggravating than the Grandfather Clock in the foyer. I hired my
precious Dad to be my official timer...all he has to do is
remind holler at Mom FEED Madi!!

So in closing I guess the main complaint of timely feeding of Madi has been solved.  I heard Mom called me a Drama Queen... it takes a DQ to know a DQ...I DO not expect items
1 and 2 to be addressed.
