Lake Lure Inn and a funny

The sky was gorgeous and exactly this color!!!

I am a huge fan of Dirty Dancing. The movie was filmed in Lake Lure, NC.
This was my first time visiting Lake Lure, NC
During the filming, it is said, the movie stars took over the Inn.
I don't know the cost of the rooms but here are a few pictures from
inside the lobby...they will probably tell you it is pricey

Stain glass windows everywhere

 Gorgeous antique furnishings

If you seen Dirty Dancing you are probably familiar with the
GREAT LIFT Scene in the Lake. September 13-14 (the weekend after we were there)
there was the Annual Dirty Dancing Festival
We heard may attendees actually re enact the Lake Lift Scene too.

What a breathtaking view of the lake and the mountains
Lake Lure has a beautiful beach.
 and Marina

Mother Goose and Grimm tickled my funny bone yesterday.
I wonder if our Queen of Margaritas,  Ruby, uses this method

Nature and Feline Friday

Wednesday, September 4th we left our friend's home for a road trip to visit:
Along the Blue Ridge Parkway we saw beautiful vistas of the Great Smoky Mountains

MST stands for Mountain to Sea Trail

We saw babbling brooks

white caps rushing
makeshift foot bridges that we did not TEST
Falls glistening in the sun this was taken at an angle
the sound of the water and the birds filled the air
There were lots of stone stairs down the to bottom

After we took some 'selfies',

we climbed back up found a picnic table  WITH A VIEW
and enjoyed a delicious picnic lunch prepared by Sally.
We had ham and turkey sandwiches on a variety of breads, chips and chocolate pound cake
and lots of WATER.  Temperature was hovering at 80.  Humidity was low and thankfully
the trail was shaded.

Happy 1st Anniversary to my Nephew KAT

Dearest Aunty HiC
It’s hard to believe it’s been a year ago today (Sept. 20) since I allowed Mom to pick me up for the first time.
She would patiently sit close by, softly singing Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty, and the Meow Mix songs. ๐Ÿ˜น
I played hard to get for several weeks, until I knew she couldn’t wait to get her hands on me!
Teeheehee

Thoroughly Poetic Meow Like a Pirate

Today we join Two  SPOILED CATS
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.
Here is our photo challenge

His office is the deep dark sea.
He travels in the shadows of night by the tower light.
Looking for treasures and trinkets while
out of sight.
In the background you hear screeching from the
pirate's Parrot
 Cap'n my Cap'n
look starboard (right) and you will see a landlubber
who is lost at sea. What an addlepate (fool) he be
out here on the open sea.
Fair winds my friends
til we meet again.

Mom found a Pirate Dictionary on Google woohoo
We will attempt to meow like a Pirate
English word has a strike through.  Pirate talk is in bold italics beside it.

ARRRRG are you  ready?

I gladly admit to looking like  a fool addlepate in this
mask but you know when we do something we go all out

Shiver me timbers Mom Cap'n my Cap'n
has turned into a gun packing woman Wench
Yo-ho-ho seaman sea dogs there is  non-sailor landlubber
right side starboard

Never fear Wench Madi has them in her eyes deadlights

Sink me! (expression of surprise)  Look at the loot swag we found while looking through our telescope spyglass
Good bye Fair winds Matey, Buckos, Me hearties  and Wenches (all pirate talk for crew)
ARRRRG!
Grab a mug of Rum and be on ye way before me makes ye walk the gangplank
on this fine day.

I would like to add this addendum to my post

Wordless (not) Wednesday with Kat

Dearest Aunty HiC

Although it still feels like summer here, Mom has started her fall cleaning.  Today I watched (from each room in the house) as she cleaned the outside windows.

The squeegeeing is my favorite part.

Be careful on that step stool, Mom! You’re no Spring Chicken, teeheehee!

Looking good; I can see my handsome reflection. ๐Ÿ˜บ

Oooops, you missed a spot!

Nap time for Me-ow!
Whew, I’m exhausted from all that snoopervising! ๐Ÿ˜น

❤️ Kat Your Feline Nephew

Dearest Nephew...
I'm giggling like a 5 year old at the thought of you following that squeegee thingie around.  It is better than a mouse on a stick. Boy oh boy did you enjoy watching mom work.  I bet it made you hungry.  NOW just between you and I once she finishes the inside be sure to leave your signature Tabby nose print on all the glass!
Lovingly your Aunty HiC

LANAP laser oral surgery update

All went well...other than my bp was pretty high at the beginning I"M sure due to being anxious. The only thing I felt was the one shot in the roof of my mouth for about 5 seconds.  I was walking out of the office at 11:45 am. It was NOT at all as my mind's eye imagined.

Extreme diet of 3 days of liquid is for someone who had all of their mouth done. I just had one tooth!! YAY I can start on soft foods macNcheese, potatoes, soft veggies, smoothies, cottage cheese, yogurt, ice cream, oatmeal etc.  today. I'm thankful that I can still drink coffee. Either Iced all beverages and food needs to be luke warm.

So all is good.  SO glad it is over.  Post doc is 10/1 at 2 pm.  Entire healing will be one months.

Dear Madi

Dear Madi
365 Days ago, today,  I wrote OUR last blog post (with your help), to tell our
friends across the WWW that you made your trip OTRB.
Friday, September 13, 2019, was one year since you Madi(son) D Cat got your wings๐Ÿ‘ผ.
A year and 4 days....Dad and I cannot believe it has been that long.
You will always be a part of this blog...
We miss you each day, we talk about you each day and we smile with all the memories you left in our hearts and in every crook and cranny of  Manor Madi. We count our  lucky stars that you chose us as your (servants) guardians.   You taught us so much..you were like no other.
Thank you for leaving your beautiful furs here and there.  I found them every where  for many months.  Just last week, as we were packing for our vacation, I found several
in my RED suitcase.  Thank you for always jumpin' in to help me pack.
I think small things like this that happen every day are
divine iMessages that you are here with us.
Speaking of body parts....
Dad said to tell you your whisker turned CB antenna is still holding strong over at
the Train Brain Depot.

I miss your very 'special' greeting each morning when I entered the family room.
You always walked toward me, with your long luxurious tail flying high (just like in the photo below).  You stopped right by my side for a nanosecond to let me wrap my hand around bottom of your tail. Then you would continue to walk as my hand had the pleasure of holding it as it ever so slightly as passed thru my hands.
Now that being said, knowing my Diva as I did,
I'm pretty sure that was your very LAST warning telling me your breakfast was OVERDUE.
MOLMOL

Lastly you are permanently holding court, on the mantel you loved so much...

and I always tell you good morning and good night!!

We love you two hours and a bunch
Mads!!!
Mom and Daddy

My Life was Grand
by Madi(son) D Cat
The time has come for me to join the others
I was not ready and neither was Mother.
When the angels came to fly me up into the sky,
To his Bonsai Bunny my Dad said bye, bye.
They have walked this line 2 times before Me.
Easy it is not no matter the number of days.
As I crossed the bridge, so many friends greeted me.
They all spoke at once and were full of glee
Eager to tell me of sun puddles, boxes and food for free.
My friends mourn me not,
Since the day I was born, my life has truly been ‘heaven’ on earth.
Remember I love you. You know how much?
To quote my human Sis, “ I love you two hours and a bunch”.
I bid you farewell and I end this poem as I always have
Hugs Madi your Bfff
