How I survived 8 days of freezing weather 

Prologue
Recently, during all the horribly cold weather, I found myself feeling  a bit (cabin) feverish.
I cleaned out closets, dust mopped floors, read books and cooked lots of soup.
I knew for sure I was feverish when a song came on the radio that made my feet happy.

Non-fiction
I 'volunteered' Madi to be my cha cha cha partner...her Dad doesn't dance.
Madi was quite cooperative or feared for her life.  Either way she hung on
and her tail swayed to the same music.  She sang, the song of her people 🙀, as my feet cha cha'd.

We even strayed far away from the good for us breakfasts we have had every week day for years. MadiDad always makes himself a fresh fruit salad and I always have a bowl of
little O's (cheerios) topped with a banana, both heart healthy.
However, each morning on my way in to the kitchen, I passed by the thermostat.  Each morning the temperature in the house was 63 or 64.  We have it set to be 69.
The voice of reason (aka party in my head) told me it was too cold in the house for cold a breakfast.
We enjoyed toasted bagels with a variety of jams and we treated ourselves to Peet's Coffee.
Major Dickason is our favorite flavor.

Fiction
To pass the long cold days I began to dream about lovely walks in the park on a spring day.
I was so busy enjoying the charming scene that I visualized in my head,
I didn't even realize that I had answered the door.
There before me was the woman
who'd spoken, to me many months ago as I walked in the park.
She was a sour-faced woman who accessorized herself
quite lavishly with fuchsia and lime green feathers, a bright orange straw hat
with a red ribbon.  I was not the least bit surprised when I noticed she had a Macaw on her shoulder.
I was about to start a conversation with her Macaw,  when a tiny noise brought me back
to reality. I was saved from great embarrassment by a tiny meow and nose tap letting me know
it was time for an itty bitty kitty to eat.

Puppy Love 

By madi and mom

When first he held his fuzzy pup to his chin,
his grin stretched from ear to ear.
His round eyes were full of glee
The smile on his face was oh so free.
He knew his new friend would follow him around his 
world and back again. Their love would grow
their bond would be tight.
At night as they snuggled close in the bed,
both tired but full of happy dreams to rock them
in to a slumber their shared.

Royal Dreaming

Last week when the mail arrived I was sure my eyes were deceiving me...

Or perhaps I was dreaming... but then I distinctly heard

my Dearest Princess Leah say.......

She came to invite me to a attend a very special event at the Renaissance Hotel on St Pancras Station
in London

 She assured me we would have a most wonderful time and there would be

lots of activities I would enjoy. She told me we had permission to roam and romp...
so we did just that.
We shared a pint at the BAR

 Princess Leah kept watch while I performed some of my most spectacular
high rail stunts on the Grand Staircase.

After an entire day spent romping, we had reservations Spunky's spa for some
royal funky Spunky treatment

Where they had some most unusual personnel


THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN the most wonderful thing happend
we got all dressed up in fancy frocks and
The OMCs buttie pillars were let loose to fly about the
Grand Staircase as Princess Leah and I floated down the stairs to attend
the..................

After a most Magical Evening. Princess Leah and I had a sleep over.  OMCS
she let me sleep right on her bum and share her Princess Pillows.
We both had buttie pillars fluttering about in our dreams.

Let me just say this about that day...it was splendid and I'm most grateful to
Dearest Princess Leah for treating me like royalty.

Garfield he is afraid no nuttin', speaks his mind and most of all he is always right and Jon knows it.

I have been the subject of a stain glass photo by our fiend Ramona and my Aunty K
made a quilt into the most amazing likeness of me 

What is the one thing that should be taught in school? This is  my only serious answer
Kindness and acceptance.  We pets understand it but the humans need reminding. 

Who would you take with you to a desert island?
#1 my peeps because they both have survival skills that are relevant to the care and tending of ME.
#2 Mama and Daddy of Mayor Arty 'cause they are the Jackie and Jacques Cousteau of Blogville.  They could provide us with fishies. Mayor Mama takes the most gorgeous above and  below the Sea Photos maybe she'll even a see a MerryMaid.

my friend Sarge hosted a Box Bash on January 10th 2014.  Every buddy showed their best Box moves.

If you were the ultimate ruler of the world, what is the first thing you would do?
Teach all my K9 friends how to use a litter box...so they wouldn't have to go out in to the cold, wet snowy, hot yucky weather.
