SO THE ANSWER TO YESTERDAY'S QUESTION
IF 7 TREES FALL IN MY YARD WILL YOU HEAR THEM?
NO
And we will tell you why.
Due to the size and location a crane is used
to lift sections of trees as they are cut.
Pictures to follow of trees and what I did
during all the sawing noise. As soon as the door
bell rang at 8 am, I turned on my High beams waiting to see
who was at my door.
It was a tree monkey telling my peeps he was here to climb in my trees
The sawing in the front got loud so I adjourned to
my peeps bedroom. The trees in front and on the side
were not as tall as in back. They came down quickly.
My curiosity got the best of me, I had to peep around the door
NOW FOR THE FUN PART
The tree monkey is hoisted to the tippy
top of the 87 million foot trees by the crane.
He has on all kinds of safety harnesses.
(And a hard hat WHICH by the WAY will not protect his
noggin if a tree falls on it.)
He is lowered into the top of the tree.
These pictures were taken through the skylight
the speck under his foot is just a leaf on the skylight
Once tree monkey has securely attached the crane
lift and belt to the top of the tree he does the monkey
shuffle down about 1/2 way. Then makes the first cut
the crane lifts the tree away
Then tree monkey attaches the crane.
Tree monkey does the monkey shuffle down the tree
The last cut is made at the ground.
This is the tree being lifted off the ground over our
skylight around the side to the street.
While my peeps watched this process 2 more times
I decided it was safe to go back into my den
Which is where mom found me. She actually expected me to
pose for her. But I showed her who was boss of me....ME!!
I am thrilled to report the entire process only took 2 hours,
the tree monkey and his fellow monkeys were all safe and efficient
Mom said everyone had a job and they did it. They even
used tree monkey sign language. They could not hear each other
so they had to talked with hand signals.
Now our home is safe from falling 87 million foot trees
and the peeps no longer have to lie awake during storms
listening to the trees creak...wondering if this will be the night
one falls on the house.
