Time: 6 pm on a quiet early evening
Where: A small coastal in North Carolina
Event: single engine Cessna made and emergency landing in a farmer's field. Top photo
Photos are from the town's FaceBook page take the next day Tuesday, September 21 just after lunch.
Photo above is of the homes just feet away from the plane.
The home in the middle is where my daughter, SIL(son-in-law) and grandkitties
live. This is the back of their home. Thankfully there is a 3' wide x 5' deep ditch between their home and the farmer's field where the plane landed.

Now for the rest of the story:
Supper just competed for humans and kitties.
Daughter: tidying up kitchen with tv on
Son in law in the garage preparing to take recycle and trash bin to the curb.
Grand kitties in the family room taking their 25th nap of the day.
Daughter heard a noise like metal scrapping but thought SIL might have turned something over in the garage.
All of a sudden both kitties ran into the kitchen at mach speed.
Mia landed on the table, Frisco under the table. If you have ever been owned by a cat, you know they are prone to sudden burst of energy. So this race into the kitchen did not concern my daughter.
About 30 minutes later SIL comes in the house Daughter asked
him what he turned over in the garage. He said nothing...why.
Then a few minutes later just as dusk is about to arrive he looks outside.
Casually says ummm what is that in the field. Daughter is reading says maybe a heron...No he says definitely not a bird it is huge. She gets up to look and they both say 'it looks like a plane'. Out to their deck the go YEP it was a plane. All of a sudden emergency sirens are heard and vehicles start arriving from all the alphabet organizations:
Local EMS, MHCFD, MHCPD, and NTSB
Neighbors were all standing in the back yard...in total shock.
It was determined the plane landed not crashed. BUT WHY
By now it was dark and not much could be done.

Time: Early afternoon
My daughter was working from home that afternoon, this is what she saw:
At this point she started videoing the event.
Tow truck pulled the plane out of the field toward a two lane road.
Road was closed, plane position on in the middle of the two lane road,
engine started and the plane took off under its own power.
It was determined the plane had a faulty fuel gauge. Thankfully the pilot must have been very skilled to immediately find a safe place to land.
This is a true story...with THANKFULLY a very good middle and ending.
