Madi: Puss and Boots.......

I (Mom) am tired of snow and tired of having to put on boots everytime I go outside.....
Madi loves it when I come back in after walking around outside in the boots.
Before I could get to the camera she gave them the Madi sniff of approval
then she marked them as hers...

Mom has the floor with her shadows again

Mom has the blog today...she wants to show you some more
shadows, reflections and sun spots. The sun has moved some since our last
blog about shadows.
This is our RED room. Notice the sun's reflection in the tv screen

The picture below is what is being reflected in the tv screen above.

Mid morning sun as it moves over the house to the West

Sun coming in the kitchen window from the East. Notice the reflection of the
breakfast bar and just a tad of the granite reflecting on the fridge door.

Sun over the house coming in the back door reflecting the
small counter at the left onto the island.

In late afternoon just before the sun goes behind the trees,
it shines in the octagonal window in the family room which is
reflecting on the china cabinet in the kitchen

In the picture below, the sun has just past over the
top of the house. At this time, there is about a 10 minute
time frame of total sun coming in at an angle from the West
making this interesting shadow on the dining room east wall.

As always, Madi and I thank you for stopping by.
Mom thanks you for once again allowing her to show you the shadows, sun and reflections that she enjoys this time of year. Our house faces North and it seems this time of year the sun is at her best.

Madi and Mom: Tuesday toes

February 2,
Happy Ground Hog Day!!!!

The secret is out..Mom is infatuated with my toes especially my pads.
She says they take on lots of meaning
like below they are expressive as "My point is"

when I'm sleeping she likes to play with them she loves that they are black and pink

here they are crossed but she says that doesn't mean I'm cross (as in mad)
I'm probably trying to keep her from playing with them.
So I say turn about is fair play...now I'm playing with Mom's
toes or at least I was but by the time she snapped the picture I had stopped.
Mom talks about my pad colors being pink and black.
One thing for sure I'm glad they aren't green like hers HA :-)

Respectfully submitted Mom and Madi's Toes

Mom: How I spent December and January

Whimiscal Calendar

is back

Today Feb 1, is Spunky Old Broads Day!!!
If the shoe fits, .....enjoy your day, I heard Mom said she will (mol).
I began reading South of Broad by Pat Conroy, which takes place in Charleston, South Carolina.

I do most of my reading either during my lunch hour or at night while riding my recumbent bicycle.

I crochet while watching TV every evening

I really enjoy crocheting; however, for obvious reasons, I don't crochet a lot
in the summer....too hot to have lots of yarn in your lap.
I'm happy to say I've completed 2 of the 3 baby afghans I need to
make for wee ones due this spring. The one above is a shell pattern
it is 1/2 baby soft white and 1/2 soft shades of pink, blue and green.
It will be leaving for its new home in New York in the next week or so to await the birth of a May 2010 baby.
Last weekend I started my 3rd and final baby afgan of the year. It will be completely mint green and also in the shell pattern as above.
Three newborn hats for premature babies. I make these out of leftover baby afghan yarn.
When I have a bag full I take them to our local hospital. The hospital furnishes
newborn hats but they are too large for the premature babies.

This was my first baby afghan of the winter. Made out of baby soft ecru yarn. It is in a 'V' pattern made with two single crochets. The edging for this afghan is a single crochet around 3 edges and a shell pattern on the top edge. This afghan has already arrived at its new home in Arkansas awaiting the arrival of the 3rd baby in the Ware World household, due in early February. Whether it will be a boy or a girl is a yet to be known.....

Madi and Mom

M O M............

Stop with the flashy box..get busy on my blog
it is so hard to train a good assistant. I have to watch her every minute!!!!

Thanks Madi
Sunday after the snow. Thankfully the sun is out. Not much melting expected today because our highs will only be in the 20's and they are saying it will be 10 degrees tonight.
Total accumulation was 5" with the last inch being all sleet. We might venture out in the car today. The city does not plow or salt neighborhood streets; however, we live one block from a major road....so if we can make it up the hill we'll be fine.
