Saturday Symmetry

Thank you all for you wonderful wishes for our 50th Golden Wedding anniversary yesterday.
The sun was out, there was NO rain.  We had breakfast at Panera, took a brisk 50 minute walk outside.  We learned years ago not to even try to have a pleasant dinner out on February 14.
Too crowded and too rushed.  We are going out for a nice dinner at The Peddler on Tuesday,
February 18th.

*****************************************

We have very very very tall pine trees in Raleigh.
Photos from the car
The one on the left is one I've wanted to share for some time.
The two bushes are just green until the sun hits them for a brief few minutes.
I happened to have my camera and was able to catch a photo of the breeze blowing just enough
to show off the silver under the leaves. I'd like to get a better photo but they are on the edge of a
2 lane road no where to park.

I shared the whirly gigs last week
This week I'm showing you the curb art with , NO,
printed on them...many homes have these by their mailboxes

Happy very special Nature and Feline Friday

Fankful Friday

I am very fankful for our 50th anniversary and a joyful 50 years too

CHEERS, CHEERS FOR 50 YEARS
Today is our 50th Wedding Anniversary

Thanks Comedy Plus for hosting

Thanks LLB Gang for hosting

All RED NATURE Friday in honor of the day.

On February 14, 1970
The church was decorated with red and white carnations!!
I don't know this for a fact but I BET our church's
Social director was a bit taken back by all the RED
My bridesmaids wore red dresses
Velvet bodice and satin skirts

Yep thanks to the US Marine Corps we were married on February 14, 1970.
Our original date was 2/7.  Starting in the fall of 1969 (HOM) Hubby of me started asking the US Marines what day his weekend drill would be in Feb 1970.  They would not tell him so we picked 2 pm February 7th. Reservations were made with our church and using the social hall.  We had tentative plans with florist. We completed the order form for the invitations in December 1969.  Of course this was before cell phones.  I was going to mail the invitation order at lunch.  Thankfully HOM reached on the old fashion rotary phone. before I mailed them.  Our church already had a wedding a 2 pm on 2/14 so we changed to 4 pm.  Whew.

Thoroughly Poetic and Thankful Thursday #7

Today we join Two  SPOILED CATS
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

Here is today's inspiration

ONCE....

way back in time, there were Pioneers...
Men and women...full of grit and  gumption
They hitched their faithful horses to packed wagons.
To head west to parts unknown.
Dreams of life full of adventure, big skies and rich land.
Homesteads were claimed, shelter built, crops planted..
Life for these brave men and women hard
what they accomplished was Grand!!
2020  all that remains:
Is  Population of One and this
Little House on the
PRAIRIE.

Thankful Thursday with Brian and his Siblings

Thankful Thursday

Normally we eat out on Tuesday morning.  I am never home for the big event; however,
it was raining in NC so we decided to stay home for breakfast.
I am thankful I was home and I'm thankful for everyone who makes
Tuesday Teaser such fun.

For the 2nd time in my blogging career.......

Being first to comment is almost as hard as guessing who and where the mystery photo was taken

Wordy Wednesday with KAT and flashback

Dearest Aunty HiC

We’re “Homeward Bound”, and a bit road weary.
We had a surprise Tuesday morning when we awoke to snow in New Mexico! ❄️

Purr-sonally, I wasn’t as excited as Pups and the peeps.

I did enjoy watching Pup, having a blast doing zoomies, and catching snowballs. Silly canine!!
This is a short video and oh so much fun

Dearest Nephew...
FYI in case you didn't know, Angel Madi and I started blogging in June 2009.
Your precious Mom was our biggest fan and  blogging mentor way back in 2009.
🤗❄️❄️☃️☃️❤️‼️
What a fun post!  OMCs ‘what the fluff is that stuff⁉️‘
That made me giggle!!
Pup must have been stir crazy he surely is loving the winter wonderland.
I guess you are staying put til the fluff is snuffed out!
Lovingly your Aunty HiC

This is our first Wordless Wednesday post

 February 17, 2010

February 17 2010 was World Human Spirit Day...
My feline spirit is outside in the snow.....
PS...Madi's feet have never been on the ground

I hope we don't have snow on the ground today

Happy Tuesday Tails

After several days of rain, followed by several days of below freezing temperatures, as is typical in
NC the weather turned WARM...about 70 or 72 F
I saw many happy wagging tails!!

There were 2 dogs walking in the picture below
One in front was a brindle not sure of breed
Black lab in the back.

Black Lab

Below is my latest quilting project which I will donate to Project Linus, Raleigh Chapter,
was started in 1996 by Susie Holmes. Over 50,000 blankets have been delivered to many local groups and agencies that help seriously ill or traumatized children who need a HUG from a blanket including: Wake Med Hospitals, Rex Hospital, Duke Hospital NICU, Safe Space (for children of abused women receiving support), Hospice (for their Reflections program for grieving children and teens), Make a Wish Foundation, the children at Salvation Army, Children's Flight of Hope, and Wake County Social Services.

It is a play mat
Same pattern as last week's called a square in a square.
Made with 5" and 10" precut squares both in nursery fabric.
I had 9- 10" squares left over.  Once I sewed them together I had just the perfect
amount of fabric for backing.  I think everyone knows how much I love pops of
brilliant colors.  The two smaller photos are up close of the quilting stitch.

Awww x 2 MONDAY and Sparks

I have two Awww Mondays that go perfectly with my SPARKS

#1 Awww Monday

About noon on Friday, February 7, 2020
Dad of Angel Madi found this on the floor!!
(FYI I vacuum weekly)
I'm sure we found many whiskers and tons of fur after she past..
How appropriate on this Valentine's Week...
a Whisker fell from OTRB
It is now secure in a box with her fur.

Our itty bitty kitty came little cat feet to leave us some love.

Carl Sandburg's poem
Fog says it purrfectly

The fog comes on little cat feet.
It sits looking over harbor and city on silent
 haunches and then moves on.

#2 Awww Monday and multiple

Friends of ours recently adopted
Daisy an 8 year old Piebald Dachshund from the Raleigh Dachshund rescue...
Rose, their Dachshund/Chihuahua mix, passed 3 weeks ago.  They were gonna wait til Spring to look for another one Dachshund; however, Gretchen has been so very lonely and wandering around the house looking for Rose.
Gretchen was the boss of the house; however, it seems she is so happy to have a sista she has handed over her crown.
Daisy didn't miss a beat putting on her Tiara.  Daisy makes Gretchen wait to enter a room until SHE , Daisy, has entered.

Daisy is a long haired *Piebald Dachshund
*A piebald dachshund has a white coat with patches of gray, black or brown. ... A piebald dachshund puppy is born when two wieners with the recessive piebald gene breed together. ... Your sausage dog is a piebald dachshund if it sports areas of full-color fur on a white background.

Gretchen is a long haired red...
Cheers for Adopting instead of Shopping

Sparks quite appropriate for today
