Most unusual water fountain on the campus of the NC Museum of Art

I meant to investigate the middle section but forgot.  I might be for washing hands?!

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday #11

Today we join Two  SPOILED CATS

Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

Here is our inspiration

Many years ago we traveled with a local group to Lancaster, PA.  When we arrived in Amish County, we had a local guide.  Part of the trip included visiting an Amish Farm. Several of the ladies on neighboring farms prepared lunch for us.  They were Master Chefs of the Amish kitchens.  The meal was delicious all cooked with propane no electricity.  The home and gardens are tended by they females.  The fields worked by the men.  Immaculate is the best word to describe their homes, gardens, animals and fields.  They take pride in everything they do.
My poem today comes from the letters in AMISH

Amazing
Masters at all they do
Incredibly kind
Simple, yet full lives
Humble

Happy St. Patrick's Day: Flashback to 2010

Angel Madi's first St. Patrick's day was March 17, 2010, which was also a Wednesday.
She and I made our first attempt at poetry via a Limerick.
At the time I had not learned any photo shop.

Fast forward to 2020
I had become quite good at Pizap Photoshop until December 31, 2020 when the new Pizap program replace the old one.  Once again this old cat lady is learning new tricks. The below is my first halfway decent photo shop 2021.

Many years ago I enjoyed cross stitching.  Below is one of my pieces
The Irish Blessing Hangs above the guest bed
Sent to you from Me

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Happy Tuesday

Hosted by Comedy Plus

Ruby our Red  Camellia makes us very happy.  She sits by our front sidewalk.  We see her every time we go and come.  We have had her 5 years...she has bloomed about 4 blooms each of those years.  This year she is blooming crazy and there are still probably 50 or so buds not opened yet.

Awww Monday and Sparks

Wednesday, March 10...I step out onto our front porch...to my amazement I saw a bird land
in my neighbors front yard then fly up into a tree. I grabbed my camera. I slowly walked down my driveway clicking as I walked.  It was a beautiful hawk.  I am not at all an expert at bird ID.
I think it is a Red Shouldered Hawk

Description in my Birds of  the Carolinas and North America:  Barred rusty underparts, reddish wing linings and shoulders tail broadly banded with black.  They have a varied diet but squirrels are at the top of their list and we do have plenty of squirrels.

Keep your eyes opened and you camera handy you never know what you will see on your own street.

Sunday Selfies: Cody and Maggie

Last week I took a walk around our neighborhood.

Cody was in his usual spot.  I approached him from behind.  As soon as I leaned down to pet him he stood up.  Toby is 14, such a precious furry friend always happy to say howdy. I tried to convince him not go get up but he is such a gentlepup.

I met a new friend, Maggie a 1 year old Golden Retriever/Doodle mix, and her Mom Debbie. Mom told me they live in the neighborhood behind us.  All the streets are cul-de-sacs not very good for walking. She said she had met so many nice people in our 'hood. This photo was taken from my driveway. Thankfully,gMaggie stopped to read some pee mail. We introduced ourselves.  I told Maggie I was very envious of her red furs.  She gave me a signature golden smile.
