TODAY I WANT TO TELL YOU about a big
THANKFUL
We were able to clear snow off our cars. Our house faces NORTH. Never any sun on the side walk. We used ice melt on our steps and side walk. However, our drive way is just too steep for two old codgers to balance on a slippery slope and shovel .
The snow in front of our garage (and our neighbor's) had a layer of ice under it. No amount of shoveling will break that up.
SUNDAY AFTERNOON we looked out our window to see
Dear Neighbor Ken, shoveling our steep driveway.
Today is Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats
Today's photo challenge
I am writing this poem for the man on the right pointing his finger

Neighbor Ken is a HERO in our eyes!!!!
ReplyDeleteHelped without asking, shovel in hand,
Easing the burden with a neighborly stand.
Reminding us kindness can fall like snow.
Ordinary acts—where true heroes show.
Your made me think of this: Pardon, would you happen to have any Grey Poupon? 😹😹😹😹
Thx, ChatGPT! 😉
Deletethats great to have such a nice neighbor... we hope the ice will melt, that is dangerous for peeps to walk on ice...
ReplyDeleteThat was very kind of your neighbour. I had to google Grey Poupon. I use Dijon mustard, but have never heard of it before.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful you had help from a neighbor......we did too - AND the help of a wonderful man who brought heavy ice-breaking machinery to clear our driveway. With 8 inches of snow topped with four inches of ice we didn't have a chance! Your poem is hilarious - somewhere on that table there SHOULD be a bottle of Grey Poupon!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam and Teddy
Such a wonderful neighbour! I'm glad he was there for you both. (And goodness, you have such a lovely property, live in a gorgeous neighbourhood!)
ReplyDeleteThat poem gave me a chuckle! I wonder what the original context of the photo was.
Neighbor Ken is a blessing! Love your poem and that is a LOT to choose from!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome neighbor you have. My neighbors will be out snow blowing while I'm shoveling and they finish their driveways and go back in. I'm surrounded by 3 guys with snowblowers who never offer help.
ReplyDeleteI like your poem. I wonder what the massive table filled with food was all about

ReplyDeleteYAY! for Keneighbour. I too had to search GP... being a mustard fan, I have never heard of it! YAM xx
Definitely the kind of neighbor that you enjoy having close by when you really need help. No one should really be trying to shovel that heavy snow with ice. We were lucky that our neighbor came over with his snow thrower in between him and us with shovels we cleaned three driveways. Don't ever want to do that again.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet neighbor. Wow, that's a lot of yuck you have there. And, WoW, Wow on that table full of food.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous thing for your neighbor to do!
ReplyDeleteWAHOO for Ken!!! Kind neighbors are few and far between nowadays, we are so glad to see you have such a caring neighborhood!!
ReplyDeleteGreat poem too!
hugs,
Beth
It's so wonderful when kind neighbors step in to help you out like that. Your poem is perfect for that picture.
ReplyDeleteHOORAY! That is a terrific thankful and kind neighbors are a real blessing. Fun poem too. Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteJava Bean: "Ayyy, it's the sidewalk equivalent of finding an open trace in the Arctic!"
ReplyDeleteIt would be great when I was younger and had a sled... you could go all the way down!!! You have a great neighbor. Interesting perspective all the way down! Had to laugh with your poem🤭
ReplyDeleteGlad you did not try to get out there!
What a great neighbor! I'm so glad I don't live where snow has to be shoveled! I'm too old for that!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I laughed out loud at your poem and the picture. A big shout-out for dear neighbor Ken. Your driveway is similar to ours. We have the same problem. The sun kisses the snow for a few minutes and then it kisses no more. But at least we had help. Otherwise it would still be snowed and iced over still. Stay safe and warm Cecilia. Hugs, Denise
