Today is Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats
Today's photo challenge
This photo reminded me of a true story about Me at Three.
I'm told I was quite happy there was no crying
**************************
When I was a wee lass,
oh about three
I decided being hair stylist was for me
I had no customers.
So I looked high and low
and OMDs there was
Lady and her puppies waiting for me.
Lady was my Annie Ma's (maternal grandmother) Collie.
They were sleeping and quite as could be
So they my customers would be.
Needless to say, my profession was C U T
short when Annie Ma found me.
She squealed NOT with GLEE
Where did you get the scissors???
give them to me which I did with a fist full of Collie furs.
*********************
I don't remember this but I was told the first thing I said:
"Was Lady and her puppies did not move".

Oh Dear Me, I’m sure you were crying just like the little girl pictured here. So sad, but still absolute hilarious. What a funny memory. I’m sure you were never allowed near near
ReplyDeletelady again while carry scissors! ✔️
DeleteOops, wrong customer type! Doggies go to the groomer, not the hairdresser, LOL! Great poem!
ReplyDeleteHope the dentist provides headphones with your choice of entertainment with them...our specialist dentist does that, for the few times we had to go there for root canals...(Ugh, anyways!)
I think more of us than want to admit it had "adventures with scissors" at an early age with "difficult" results! At least you practiced on a dog while many of us practiced on ourselves! LOL Good luck at the dentist - I'm sure you dread that - thankfully my bridge is hanging in there. SO FAR.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
Delightful poem, and good luck with sitting through that bridge work. Dad says he'll be in the same boat before he knows it.
ReplyDeleteThe picture reminds me of the year my daughter gave herself a haircut right before school pictures. I laugh every time I see her picture from that year. Of course it wasn't so funny at the time.
ReplyDeleteGood luck at the dentist. Hope they have a comfortable chair for you. When I've had a couple of crowns and have been there for a few hours I end up walking out with an aching back. Maybe they'll play a movie for you up on the ceiling screen that so many of them seem to have anymore.
ReplyDeleteGramma always reminds Mom of when she was four. Gramma was in the shower and Mom found a scissors and cut her own hair and then the hair on her favorite doll. Gramma was not amused at the time but now it makes them both laugh! Good luck with the bridge construction project today!
ReplyDeleteI can remember so well the time my brother shaved a patch on the back of his head. It never grows out as fast as you want it to, does it. I stuck to cutting my doll's hair. Seeing the dental hygienist is stressful enough. Lots of luck to you today, Cecilia.
ReplyDeletePoor Country had to have her hair cut every summer. Needless to say, she did not look too lovely when I got finished. But, I had no choice since she would have bitten anyone else who tried to do it.
ReplyDeleteGood luck at the Dentist. You know I can sympathize with you. Hoping all goes smooth and they can get you out of there quickly.
precious memory from the past. I am betting you could HEAR grandma. ha ha ha. oh no on the great bridge extension... hugs
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute poem for that picture and a fun tale from your past. Good luck at the dentist today.
ReplyDeleteThat was a fun story from your childhood. Good luck at the dentist!
ReplyDeleteLOL....I always enjoy your childhood stories/memories!
ReplyDeleteGood luck at the dentist today.
hugs,
Beth

ReplyDeleteLOL what a memory to be planted upon you! All the best for the dental... YAM xx
I am hoping you are home now and comfortable and your mouth/jaw isn't sore from being open for hours. Annie Ma didn't scold you? I bet she thought it was funny. I would have found it funny🤭
ReplyDeleteOh dear, while I smile at your hair caper and oh dear, when I sympathize with your dental work. I hope it all goes smoothly.
ReplyDeleteDang, you were a certified collie cutter! I hope all went okay at the dentist! Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteGreat poem. I hope the bridge work went well. XO
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine how your Annie Ma felt! I’m sure the dogs didn’t really care.
ReplyDeleteAnd so ended a promising career
ReplyDeleteJava Bean: "Ayyy, we hope the bridge replacement went all right and that it wasn't as major construction as it sounds from the name!"
