TRANSPARENT THURSDAY

MY EAR
Is transparent with the sun shining through it

WATER

This is the shower in our guest bathroom...the shower lever sprung a leak.
THE REST OF THE STORY
A couple of weekends ago my human sis and her hubby were visiting.  Smarty pants aka human sis came down after her shower to ask if there was a charge for the extra water feature in the shower. Mom gave her the stinky eye while saying it was
ok when I cleaned the bathroom room up before you arrived.
YOU see
When you turn the crystal knob, water is supposed to come out of
the faucet only.  Then you press the lever to turn on the shower. BINGO sis got a surprise. Water came out of the faucet, the lever and the shower head all at one time. Sis said it was pretty convenient to get everything rinsed off at once. MOL MOL
Fast forward...plumber came last week..the leak in the lever was due to a worn out diveter.  He said in his 24 years of plumbing he had never seen one do that.  Usually the leak inside the wall causing a great big mess.A disaster was diverted!!
Too bad it is repaired I could have enjoyed a refreshing sip for the lever leak.
NEVER A DULL MOMENT HERE.

SENSES

SMELL
Mom's stinky feet

 TASTE
Not that I got to taste them but Dad saw an
easy peasy delish recipe for biscuits in the newspaper.
Mom made them for his Father's Day supper.
3 ingredient biscuits recipe at the bottom
Dad especially liked them because they are bite size and he
says he can eat more.

 SIGHT
Our front yard faces North so we don't get lots of sun
We have 4 built in planters on our deck.
Dad recently bought new plants for this pot
I can see it from my dining room window.  I'm a girl and
girls love purple you know

Recipe:
3 ingredient biscuits
1- 8oz package of canned biscuits
4 tablespoons butter or margarine
3 tablespoons of crumbled blue cheese
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
Cut biscuits into quarters, arrange in two 8" round baking dishes.
Melt together the butter and blue cheese. Pour over biscuits in
both dishes.  Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown
(NOTE:  Mom does not like blue cheese but she likes theses biscuits, the flavor is not that strong).  They are really tasty
too!!

A Garden for Remington

Many of you were blogging friends of Remington,
the gentle Newfie.  If you did not know Remington
Click here to visit his blog.  Beth is no longer posting to his blog so Mom volunteered to prepare a post about his
Garden.

Rem entertained us daily.
Remington and his Beth were FRIENDS to many.
Remington was only 4 years old when he made his trip to the Rainbow Bridge.   He had been blogging for his entire life.
A handful of Rem's furiends put their heads together
to come up with a way to honor Rem and let Beth and
Mike know how much Rem meant to us.

January 9, 2009-March 4, 2013

Our original plan was to plant a tree for Remington with the donations from his friends......
BUT lo and behold Beth and Mike
planted a Garden on the side of their house.
This was Remington's favorite spot to play.
To quote Beth,
"Each year and with each blossom we will think of him...this side of the house was also Remington's favorite place to play catch."
THANK YOU
MY FRIENDS."
The garden contains 5 butterfly bushes, 2 yellow rose bushes,
1 Rose of Sharon, 1 Hardy Hibiscus, 2 red, 2 yellow climbing rose bushes (at the center trellis) and to the left of the trellis many day lilies

Remington wore many hats....
and promoted many causes.  His favorite was
READING!!!!!
We had enough donations to also
buy books to be donated to a local
school in Honor of Remington.
Beth will take the books to the
school this fall.

The books selected  won a book award named after
Dr. Seuss (The Geisel Award) which evidently started in 2006
Click on the link below to read about the books and the award

Remington, *My Friend,
(*Rem's favorite expression)
you will never be forgotten...you touched the hearts
of everyone who knew you.
