Today we join Two SPOILED CAT
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.
Well all who know me know that I just had to write today's poem to go with this picture.
Ice cream
The Old Gray Mare aka Cecilia
For this frozen dessert I do dream.
I could be called a bit of a snob
Yes for it I do pine
but only very plain varieties without glob.
I dream and I scream give me cream.
BUTT
When serving this girl,
please leave out the nuts and caramel swirl.
Vanilla, chocolate or perhaps I'll give
chocolate revel a twirl on my tongue.
I like chocolate chips and fudge dip
NEVER, EVER no NEVER give me Cream in a cone
or I'll be gone
Just give me a bowl and a spoon with several scoops
Delightful I'll be and I might even moan.
our dad is with you bowl&spoon or nothing, no cone no posicle.. ;O)))
ReplyDeleteGreat poem. There are not enough poems about ice cream. But Gail has to disagree with you on one point. She is most definitely a cone person not a tub lover.
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie.
We will take it however it's served. We are not ice cream fussy!

ReplyDeleteYup - this was one for you!!! Personally, I could count on the fingers of the broken hand how many icecreams I would have in a year - and maybe not even that many! The weather has to be truly hot for me to want the stuff and even then, I'd probably prefer a milkshake!!! YAM xx
Great poem and ice cream is Mom's favorite. The poem is just perfect. You all have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteall the things you don't love I love and alas I can't have any of it. my favorite ice cream is vanilla, just plain vanilla. bob's is chocolate. I love the truck the kids are sitting on.. my favorite of all ice cream was my mothers home made vanilla or banana or peach ice cream.
ReplyDeleteIce cream is one of the hubby's favorite things too Cecilia. He usually eats some form of it almost every night.
ReplyDeleteI love a soft serve chocolate and vanilla swirl in a cake cone! You have written a most excellent poem about Ice CREAM! Good Morning! It's 68 here!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love love love ice-cream! I'd rather it be plain actually. Any flavor will do. Fudge vanilla twirl being my fave along with Cherry Vanilla.

Great job with your ODE TO ICE CREAM! My Mom is more into popsicles these days (mango and strawberry :) ) but gosh she just loved hearing that ice cream truck coming through the neighborhood. The good old days were apparently good AND yummy too! Thanks for joining in our weekly fun.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy
That was a fun and yummy poem, let's eat!
ReplyDeleteYep, ice cream is very awesome!
ReplyDeleteWe love ice cream and so do our pawrents. Our mom loves it with lots of stuff in it but our dad likes his plain like you do.
ReplyDeleteMmmm, ice cream!!!! Our mom and dad love it. Sometimes, but not very often, we get to lick the bowl!
ReplyDeleteCammie!
PS: Mom said to tell you - yes, the new quilt is denim! It's all recycled jeans or yardage left from something else she did YEARS ago. It's VERY comfy for Maggie and me to lay on, is durable, and stands up well to being washed every week. It's perfect for us!
Bravo, The Old Grey Mare a.k.a. Cecilia. We all love ice cream too, AND without all the trimmings. Mom says she will take most any flavor with lots of fudge, heath bar candy, and whipped cream!!!
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
It's a question of texture! I agree!
ReplyDeleteI have never met an ice cream in any form that I didn't love.
ReplyDeleteThe only way I can improve on ice cream is with hot fudge. Or by putting apple pie (homemade only) under it. :)
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had any ice cream in this house in a long time. My ghostwriter says it has to do with it being too caloric or something. Back in the day (which to me means when dinosaurs walked the earth) she remembers when the ice cream truck would drive around in summer, playing a pretty song so all the neighborhood kids would come running. In those times, the flavors were chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, maple walnut, and butter pecan. That's it!
ReplyDeleteWe prefer our ice cream in a bowl also - it is much easier for the peeps to share with us
