Dearest Pup and Kat and of course Rocky...

Today we join Two SPOILED CATS
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.
love this wonderful photo!!! ... and I remember this game... sadly I often lost my marbles LOL
ReplyDeleteOh yes, marbles. I always loved the feel of those colourful little glass balls. Although playing any game (including marbles) with my brother often resulted in strife due to his over-competitive approach...
ReplyDeleteCheers, Gail.

ReplyDeleteWe were a marbellous family... (;`<>)... YAM xx
Love your poem and the photo. My favorite marble was my red crystal and yup, I lost it to someone else☺
ReplyDeleteWonderful poem.....I too have those same memories - I can remember catching lightning bugs in a jar and letting them go free after we decided who had caught the most. Such relatively carefree days!
ReplyDeletehugs, Pam
we musta been neighbor kids!
DeleteMy brother was the marble guy. Everywhere he went he carried his bag of marbles he had the great big fat ones and a smaller ones too but I never got into that game but we did play games like Jax. J a c k s. I knew that picture reminded me of something when I saw it on the EZ's blog. It does look like the front cover of the post
ReplyDeletePup and Kat you two make my heart warm.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture, it does look vintage. Cute poem.
OH that brought back times gone by. Yes yes, a perfect poem and so true. I can go back n my thoughts to a time like that. They are gone and as they old saying goes, not forgotten. Oh and lightening bugs...I remember having the best fun catching them and getting them go before bedtime. The streets were filled with them. Not the few you see now Those were truly carefree days.
ReplyDeleteYour poem and the picture definitely take me back. I remember playing with marbles, trading, and collecting them. Such innocent simple days compared to how kids grow up now. And lightning bugs! Summer nights chasing them. Thanks for the wonderful memories this morning... they are incredibly smile worthy♥
ReplyDeleteGreat poem! Mom says she can still "smell" the lightning bugs!
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
We all love kitty cats, and want them to stay in their furever homes for...well...furever!
ReplyDeleteWe are lucky too, to have a TON of fireflies/lightning bugs in our yard this year.
We still have our paws crossed for Rocky. Your poem is perfect for that picture and paints a picture of an old fashioned type of fun. If only life were that simple again.
ReplyDeleteThat really is a sweet poem and we're all thankful that dear Rocky has found his home, home, home. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteso many games we all played before electronics .... if I were raising children in today's arena I sure would limit time on those machines and would encourage playing outside in the dirt! I remember marbles a bit, but my stronger memoreis are water fights, getting soaking wet and muddy and laughing like crazy! Have a lovely day! And such good news about Rocky!
ReplyDeleteWe really love Pup and Kat and enjoyed their long wheelie house trip. Such fun. Our paws are crossed for Rocky too. I'm sure he'll do just fine. He's got great siblings to guide him.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Thankful Thursday, honey. Big hug to you and sending lots of scritches to Rocky, Pup and Kat. ♥

ReplyDeleteHi C; this post on the marbles is great !!!! total lee awesum as da tabbies say..
seems to me that everyone in my neighborhood was always trying to collect or find
and for the life of me, I can't remember the "name" of this particular marble tho it seems to me it was the "shooter" ???
Marbles...jacks...Just running around. I do feel glad there weren't iPhones when I was young! Great poem C!!
ReplyDeleteWe are always so happy to read about Kat, Pup, and Rocky here. We wish you could convince their Mom to blog again:)
ReplyDeleteMom loves marbles. There is a shop near us where they make marbles and they are open for tours to watch the whole process.
Woos ~ Lightning, Misty, and Timber
That is a lovely poem of times gone by.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the poem. XO
ReplyDeleteKids who don't shoot marbles are missing a lot.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a lightning bug in years. It makes me sad for my granddaughters. I do try to make sure they know about having fun without electronics. We play outside and do a lot of pretend. Marbles used to be so much fun to play...and jacks.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a lightning bug! Ma always wanted to catch some, cause she would see peeps catch them on the teevees, butts we don't gets them here. sigh. Anyhu, Ma's brudder lost all her marbles (BOL!!!), butts she had the jacks, which were more funs anyhu ☺
ReplyDeleteFABulous poem! ♥
Oh, and tells Pup, Kat, and Rocky, we loves them, and are sendin' lots of {{hugs}}!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
