I have never seen any snow shovels like the black ones on the left.
I suspect designed to be ergonomically correct but I bet they take
some time to learn to use.

ReplyDeleteACtually, they make life easier... get a good grip with the top handle tucked into your torso and lean forward and pppuuuuussssshhhh - you become a snow plough!!!
I would like that first quote more if "Dr Laura" had realised it is a spade you dig with; shovels just spread the muck around!!! (And that is a spade in the picture - no turned edges and sharp at the front end. Sorry, pedantic I know!) YAM xx

i have never seen a snow shovel except in photos. now i wonder why two handles.. love that first quote, i have had several moments in my life in the past that i kept digging way to long
ReplyDeleteHaving grown up in PA I am very familiar with snow shovels, and that's what these look like. I never had one with the top handle like this, but it makes sense because the snow can get pretty heavy and that would allow you to throw it further off the path being shovelled. So glad I don't have to shovel snow any longer.

ReplyDeleteThose are both great sparks. The two handled shovel is like the ones on the far right in the first picture where the handle is bent. It makes it easier to lift since you don't have to bend over as far to pick up the shovel full of snow. We've been using the bent handled style for years but you probably don't have to worry as much about learning how to shovel without throwing your back out like we do. BOL!

ReplyDeleteI kinda like that ergonomic one, it looks like it would work well - but then again, I haven't shoveled snow in decades, so what do I know? I just love those sparks - especially the 'put down the shovel' - MOL!

Great Sparks! I love them. I have an ergonomic snow shovel, but it has a curvy handle, like the white ones on the right. It is so much easier on my back the the old style. I really want a new one! BTW my dad says the same thing about being called to dinner! Have a marvellously Happy Day!
ReplyDeleteOh, those are FABulous Sparks!! Ma has never had to shovel the white stuffs, butts she has a rake like the black one, and it is SO much easier on the back. If she had to shovel, I thinks she would choose that one! 😉

Yes - we have one of those black ones, and the Runner calls it a "man plow". One smooth surfaces like a deck, he can push the snow off the deck very easily. The Runner absolutely loves it! It's what he used when he needed to clear the deck so that I could do the chair game with our Black Dog.
