UPDATE:
Today I'm thankful to report I had my 2nd COVID vaccine on Monday, Feb 22.
My reaction was a very, very sore injection site much more so than the 1st vaccine. I took a Tylenol before I went to bed on Monday. Soreness much better but I had some fatigue on Tuesday.
UPDATE TO MY UPDATE: Interesting event after my 2nd vaccine: I first noticed my fatigue and sluggish feeling about supper time Monday.
As of yesterday afternoon, I was back to my feisty self! All of a sudden, about 3ish yesterday, was no longer fatigued and I could raise my arm above my head! Now the weird thing, just before that magical hour I had a strong desire for a Kosher dill pickle. I ate two spears. I like them lots but rarely eat them out of the jar. What was that about? LOL So as my Friend Pix said 2 kosher pickles a day keep the COVID reactions away!!!
all what we have is our memories.... we are glad, you feel better and we hope it will protect you from that evil virus beast...
ReplyDeleteGail is feeling nostalgic about happy times on crowded beaches, even when she never ever enjoyed crowded beaches!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear the side effects of the second vaccine shot were short-lived. Or does the desire for a dill pickle persist?!
Of my older friends who've now had the jab, it was my cycling friend Muriel (former professional golfer), the fittest and most robustly healthy 65 year old that I know, who had the worst reaction - though again, thankfully, only for 24 hours.
Cheers,
Gail.
I remember going to the Cornish beaches as a child because no-one travelled far back then. They did get crowded, but never that bad!

ReplyDeleteThat beach scene makes me cringe 0 but yours words, today, are on the money!!! "Guarded memories of faces gracing places"... fabulous Miss C!
Craving dills??? hmmmmmmmmmmmm... YAM xx
Those were the days - love your poem! If the pickles work.........☺
ReplyDeleteSounds like your body was craving salt.
ReplyDeleteI'm with the above. NEVER would I be on a beach that crowded. Especially not in a swim suit.
We stick to the primitive beaches in our area! Your words are true about memories at the beach for me. We spent time on the beach with my godparents here in Florida and those memories are precious to me. Jerry picked up a jar of Kosher Dills yesterday! Now if we could just get the shots!!!!
ReplyDeletei would never ever never go on that beach or even near it.. and that has been my whole life and has nothing to do with the virus... i am putting in my memory bank to buy a jar of pickles before we get our shots, IF we ever do... glad it did not last long. every time i get a flu shot my arm is sore for 3 days, some worse than others because of the person who jabs me. the pharmascist did it last year and it was hardly sore at all.
ReplyDeleteThat is some crowded beach! I'm sure glad your soreness up and went away and I'm glad your shots are done. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteThat poem is perfect for that picture. We are all yearning for the days when the beaches can be crowded again. So should I add dill pickles to my grocery list since we're getting our first Covid shots next week. LOL!
ReplyDeleteGreat poem. I am glad you got your 2nd vaccine and didn't have many issues from it. I am trying to get my hubby signed up for one, but there are no openings yet. XO
ReplyDeleteThat kind of beach is not for me. Way too populated to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your soreness and fatigue is gone. Hubby and I got the super duper shingles shots and they were wicked like that.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, my friend. Big hugs. ♥
I love your poem.....and you already know what I think about your dill pickle attack (tee hee).....thanks for playing poetry with us every week!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
We LOVE your poem! And the hint about the pickles...awesome! We will remind Mom about the pickles when she finally gets the vaccine! We are thankful for you dear furrend, we love your comments! Have a marvellously happy day!
ReplyDeletePrecious poem. My coworker had the same reaction on her 2nd vaccine, I wish I would have known about the dill pickles to tell her!
ReplyDeleteGreat poem and how we miss those days. Glad you got your second vax. Dad is waiting waiting waiting
ReplyDeleteAny reason to eat a pickle is a GOOD REASON!!!
ReplyDeleteAccording to my boss, I will soon be classified as an essential worker, meaning that I can get the vaccine sooner! At the rate we are currently going, I don't think I'll be able to get one for two or three months.
Must be that pickle juice:) Mom had a similar reaction to her first - arm very sore for about 24 hours and then literally not sore in minutes.
ReplyDeleteMom would love to get to a beach on the coastline again, but NOT that crowded:)
Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Wow! What a crowded beach! But we'd love to have some of that nice, warm sunshine right about now! Glad you didn't get too sick from that second covid shot.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you got the double shot.
ReplyDeleteWell, either that, or they inpregnated you instead of giving you the COVID vaccine, LOL!
ReplyDeleteOh, looks like you guys gots some of our CA sunshine! We wouldn't mind SOME of your rain though 😉 I am so glads you got your second shot! YAY! And glads the pickles did the trick! I'm gonna tells Gpa that ~ he gets his second shot next week! (Ma will probably have to waits til doomsday for hers! BOL!)
