Today is Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy
Here is today's inspiration
As soon as I saw this photo, I knew exactly what I would write!
Toto the mighty mini Dachshund
He was long and low
but no one could say he was slow
His favorite toy was anything that was not HIS
Toto and his human sissy were joined at the hip
Until her Barbie's passed his lips
Every chance he got he grabbed and ran
Barbie's legs were his favorite.
My husband called him a
LEG MAN
SIDE NOTE: He would always grab the Barbie when his sister was looking at him. Toto always grabbed them by the legs. I would hear her yell NO Toto NO. He would run to the kitchen to the patio door that I had opened for him. Out into the back yard and around the house they ran. He ran at Mach Dach speed. She never caught him. Back into the house he ran to deposit the Barbie back where he found her.

ReplyDeleteBOL... Oh I can just see him, knowing Dachshunds as I do... truly big dogs, shrunk!!! YAM xx
LOL yeeeees....dachshunds are always like that... the biggest heart and the biggest mind... and that's the thing we love so so much ;O)
ReplyDeleteLove picturing mach dach speed!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat must have looked so funny!
ReplyDeletetoo funny, love this story.. Leg man it is, big or small dog doesn't matter. we had a dog named Fritz, part dachschund part chihuahua. We got him when Dan was 4 and he loved Dan, slept with him. and he could run dach speed. He looked like a dachsund with long legs. not the most beautiful in the world....
ReplyDeleteI totally see the vision of Sissy chasing a Barbie stealing Toto with Toto knowing full well all the humans were loving and laughing at the whole chase!
ReplyDeleteHow we laughed at your story, Cecilia☺ Toto was a total piece of work!
ReplyDeleteMOL that's a great story!!
ReplyDeleteToto was a mighty stinker!

ReplyDeleteThat's a great poem and a fun memory to share. We're not sure your daughter thought it was fun though. BOL!
ReplyDeleteThat photo says to me: every time I ask the humans to save a chicken leg for me, they never do. So … revenge! Bwahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I can remember puppy Chester playing keep-away with one of my collection dolls. He eventually learned those were NOT squeaky toys!
BOL! That Toto sounds like the King of Mischief!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
