Thank you to our
We thank our Hostess Sandee at
We continue on our quest to find an alternative for our Saturday lunches
since Seaboard Cafe closed.
Our recent trip to CAFE CAROLINA was a smashing success.
Above is a photo of the newest location.
This is not a new cafe. It has been in Cameron Village Shopping Center for 30 years in 3 different locations.
Before I retired, I had lunch at Cafe Carolina at least once a week.
Depending on the weather, I often walked there from NCSU campus.
The third location is large enough for both of the two former cafes to fit in it.

Below is a photo of the 2nd location.
I posted about it in March 2010. Having 3 locations speaks is slow and steady growth and success.
Mom's favorite lunch spot..
Carolina Cafe and Bakery is absolutely my happy place. I love the colors, the choice pleasant dining either in or outside. My favorite sandwich is the **Carolina Cafe Turkey Breast...oh and the cafe dressing on the sandwich is delicious. Oh and most importantly all dogs are welcomed to dine with their owners on the extensive patio that also wraps around the left side of the building.

The third location is large enough for both of the two former cafes to fit in it. Here are a few photos. They serve breakfast, lunch and supper here. Best time to go for lunch is 11am in between breakfast and lunch. However, the day we were there it was PACKED so no dining room photos.
There is a huge outside patio that wraps around the entire building
We were both extremely excited that Cafe Carolina still has our favorite sandwiches on their menu.

Bryan ordered a roast beef sub with Swiss cheese and original Miss Vicky Potato Chips.
I ordered **Cafe Carolina Turkey breast sandwich with avocado and their secret CC dressing spread
and Miss Vicky's Sea Salt Potato Chips.
Our food was delicious and we will add Cafe Carolina to our Saturday rotation of lunch venues.

Cafe Carlina and several other retail shops are on the first floor of the Berkshire Luxury apartments. There are at least five floors of apartments.
Multipurpose buildings are the latest trend, one can sleep, eat and play all in the same location.
Here are a few
York building in below photo is one of the original buildings from 1949.
New buildings going on up on every block.
It is the office of the developers of Cameron Village.
that is beautiful... how great to sit outside in summer and to enjoy this fab potato chips!!!
ReplyDeleteNobby wants to know if there is a doggy menu too. He notes that his owner"s appetite has gone AWOL recently, but his definitely hasn't!
ReplyDeleteThat looks a lovely place, and the food looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have the choice to eat inside or out. Your lunches both look very good. That roast beef and swiss would be my choice but then again I'm fond of turkey as well.

ReplyDeleteThat does look good... those all-in-one living hubs have been springing up in OZ and some of our bigger cities in the UK too. Although it's not entirely original... on each block of the tenements of Glasgow and Edinburgh (and probably many other places) there would be ground level retail shopping strips with all the necessary from dairy to ironmongery. It would be nice to have those more community-focused spaces again. YAM xx
It is so fun to see where you find food. And what lovely locations they seem to be. It's amazing how fast things are being built in the last couple of years isn't it. It look like it was a beautiful day that day and I guess what, still warm enough to eat outside?
ReplyDeleteIt is nice you have a variety of places to lunch at on Saturdays. Maybe one day you will find "the" spot and it will become your very favorite.
ReplyDeleteI know you miss Seaboard, but you are finding some new favorites.
ReplyDeleteThe sandwiches look delicious! I'd opt for the turkey as well. Yum. I'm glad you're trying all these fabulous spots!
ReplyDeleteDearest Cecilia,
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky if you can still manage to have all that food!
For me, out of question with CKD stage V.
Nice set up.
Hugs,
Mariette + Kitties
my favorite is the Aqua one in the middle. they did downtown of Lakewood Ranch here with all buildings like this one. bottom is stores, bakeries, shops, resturants and above are condos, some single condos some town house condos.. I would not want to live above shops, to many people and noise I think, but I would like to EAT under one of them. love that wraparound porch
ReplyDeleteBoth your lunches looked amazing. You found a winner for lunch. I wish Zane and I could join you for your Saturday adventures.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Love and hugs, my friend. ♥
I can see why it's your happy place. Wow, you have been loyal to them for quite a while. The secret dressing on the sandwich. Those special spreads or dressings on a sandwich can make it a star! The luxury apartments are interesting and convenient. So enjoy eating outside!

ReplyDeleteWOW! Major score on a new spot for lunch (or even breakfast since some of their location have breakfast as well). It's nice to find a place that gives us what we're looking for. It's tough to do in a small town like ours. But we keep hope alive!
