Flashback to April 27, 2011
Madi and I started her blogs in June of 2010...
Today I am sharing her very first happy birthday post to her Dad April 27, 2011.
Happy Birthday to Dad...he is the one in the purple shirt

Luckily it coincides with Dad's birthday (4/27). Mom and Dad attended
this year's meet on April 24.

This gentleman traveled from Kentucky for the show. Most burn coal, some burn
oil and some propane.

The meet is held on the property of one of the local members. Below are a few pictures of his
property. We aren't sure how many acres he has but there are 2.1 miles of meandering track
and finally picture of Dad just before became the engineer for a few seconds. It was his first driving a live steam engine for the first time after many, many years of attending this meet.
A happy birthday to the one in purple! ;)
ReplyDeleteMy, would you look at all that wonderful engineering. To be allowed on the footplate is a wonderful treat, especially for the birthday boy.
That scenery too, what a joy to be able to travel around that estate in safety and at a speed to enjoy.

Happy birthday, Bryan! I am glad he had such a wonderful day at the meet. The engines look lovely and that is a long and pretty route on this year's property.

ReplyDeleteHappiest of happy birthdays to you, daddy of angel Madi!!! Can you believe it's nearly nine years since we met in the flesh and we had the wonderful, heartrwarming, generous (of you) drive together?!! The BAR still lingers fondly in my memory and both of you here at the blog are most dear to me! Have a wonderfurs day and I hope you wear a delicious colour for the occasion! Big hugs, YAM xx
What a great way for him to get to celebrate his birthday. This would have been terrific to come see in person. What fun. But at the same time great fun to leave it behind and not put it in your own backyard, lol. These fellows really travel the long ways.
