Dear Auntie HiC,
Mom was at the Dr. office with Dad recently. She noticed a lady wearing a beautiful blue top. Mom commented to the lady that she loved her top & the color was perfect for her. The lady came over & sat next to Mom, thanked her & said she’s going through a rough
time. I won’t go into the details. She explained that she appreciated being able to talk to someone other than her family, as she doesn’t like to upset them any more than necessary. When she was called back to see Dr, she hugged Mom & thanked her for listening.
We never know what someone is dealing with.
❤️ Cali
Cali oh goodness no we never, never know what others are going thru and as your Mom says ....being kind goes a long way
Loving Auntie HiC
It was kind of you to listen to her problems. We had to go and get Ivor's watch strap fixed in a small privately owned shop. We know the owner fairly well and happened to mention I was waiting to start chemotherapy. He told Ivor if he ever wanted someone to talk too to come in for a chat. I thought that was very kind too.

ReplyDeleteOh yes, such simple words and deeds can make a person's day! Thank you for telling us about this, Cali. Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx
This is so true. A simple compliment, or even a warm smile can mean so much to someone. I will never forget stopping at a full service gas station years ago and the older gentleman came out and said hello sunshine. Those two words changed my whole attitude for the rest of the day. This of course happened when I was going through a rough time so his kindness meant a lot
ReplyDeleteSometimes, the simplest gesture can mean so much to someone else. That was very nice of your mom to take the time and really care.
ReplyDeleteCali, we can see where your mom is a very loving person. We can all take something from this and remember next time we see someone to at least give them a big smile. And if they could see you they would smile right back because you're so cute.
ReplyDeleteYou never know what people are really dealing with so you should always be nice to others. Lots of people who kill themselves were totally alone and no one even knew they were struggling like that recent TV chef. So sad.
ReplyDeleteCali you are wise. Your Mom has a beautiful heart and the lady must have felt it.
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful mom, Cali. As everyone has stated, we don't know what another's life is like and just a simple act of kindness can be enough to help someone hang on. ❤️
ReplyDeleteThat is a very good lesson. We should always be kind to everyone we meet during our day.
ReplyDeleteSo very true, Cali...you never know what anyone is going through and the best way to go through today's world is with kindness in our hearts!

This doesn't surprise me one bit. Your family has great bones. I've always known that. Yes sometimes just listening to someone is what they need.

DeleteOh, that warms our hearts. And all it took to make another feel better was a small slice of Cali's Mom's time (and heart).
