My next crochet project 'might' be learning or attempting to learn
63 patterns. All are 7" squares.
Here are a few photos of squares as they were completed
FRONT of completed Afghan
I made 20-7" squares (not 63 according to pattern).
Dimensions: 40" long x 32 wide
This one is the perfect size for your lap.
The instructions for joining the squares were to slip stitch together with white yarn using a yarn needle...I decided to join the squares with a single crochet. I joined 4 vertical rows of 5 squares, then I joined each of 4 vertical rows of 5 together
I like how the white yarn outlines or gives the appearance of topstitching on the squares on the front and on the back
BACK
I washed it on delicate dried slightly then blocked.
It took 2 1/2 days to completely dry.
The border is 5 rows of single crochets

ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty, Miss C!!! Now to make one for each chair... 😁 Using more of the stitch varieties, of course! YAM xx
Looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work! I'm going to share a photo with my sister Carol since she is also crocheting these days. I never got the hang of it myself but I admire those who can be creative!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
It looks beautiful and it's completed just in time to keep you warm!
ReplyDeleteIt is absolutely beautiful crochet. The white definitely made all the squares so off each other's colors. And you got to use your favorite color red for the edging. You did excellent work. I'm sure you will be able to do all 64 patterns if you feel like it.
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing. You did an excellent job. Makes me want to try again at doing one. The last time I tried I got about 10 granny squares done and quit.
ReplyDeleteThat looks great and it's the perfect size to keep your lap warm while watching TV.
ReplyDeleteWow! Cecilia ~ wonderful and creative needlework ~ will keep you warm too ~ hugs,
ReplyDeleteHugs to you Cecilia and Angel Madi ~ xo
It's beautiful, Cecilia! The border frames it perfectly like the piece of art it is. Love the color of the border... it looks warm and cozy.
ReplyDeleteone of the eye doctors offices here, has one of these on the back of most of their chairs. there office is like a fridge inside and mostly old age people and we get cold.
ReplyDeletesoon you will be using yours while watching TV. I like the white outline side better than the front.... OCD me you know, good job...
As always, I’m impressed by your talent❣️❣️❣️
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the all done! What beautiful painstaking work! And by the way, I was thinking while looking that the white looked like top stitching before I read that you thought so too.
ReplyDeleteThat sure is pretty, bravo you!!!
ReplyDeletePurr! Purr! What a nice new afghan! If a cat were reading over my shoulder s/he would probably say "It only needs MY fur all over it."
ReplyDeleteWow! It is beautiful. XO
ReplyDeleteIt came out beautifully, Cecilia. And now you have a treasure of a patchwork quilt.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt! It would be nice and cozy sitting and reading under it in the evenings.
ReplyDeleteLovely blanket amd so personal. Dont you love knowing its unique and has its own story. Does each colour represent a left over from something else (like a garment for example)?
ReplyDeleteI love it, Cecilia! Gorgeous! Congratulations and well done! 👏🎉
