Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday #250

Thankful Thursday hosted

We had a 20 lb bag the first weekend. However, that dwindled to 10 lbs quickly.  The 2nd weekend we used the remaining 10 lbs sparingly.  There was absolutely no ice melt to be found.
Thankful Thursday is quite simple....
Saturday, February 14, 2026 our HEARTS were
thankful to see this pile of Ice Melt at Ace Hardware in Lake Boone Shopping Center.
50 lb for 18.99.  We hope we don't need it again this year but are very
THANKFUL to have it.

Crazy coincidence this photo and the Poetic Photo are so similar.

Today is Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats

Today's photo challenge

In the spring, when the

snow starts to  melt

one can haul it away

or simply scatter

  3. That photo leaves me speechless!

I don't think even a boat load of ice melter would get rid of all of ours this year! 🙄 😆

  4. Glad you were able to get a new supply of ice melt for emergency use. Hopefully you won't need to use it before next winter. Fun poem, but I hope you got yours home more safely than that!

  5. People tend to hoard things like ice melt when the snow starts flying. Good idea to buy it when you see it so that you have it on hand.
That photo is too funny. I sure would hate to be the driver of that truck

  6. We are so happy that you got your ice melt to keep you safe and that truck is a wee bit overloaded!

  7. We probably would need a ton of ice melt for our 225 foot driveway BUT we are thankful for the rain and 50 degree days which got rid of the ice FOR us! Love your poetry for that crazy truck.

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy

  8. What a picture of a truck tipping over in weight, lol. Glad you got some ice melt but hope you never have to use it again. I can't believe it actually made it up to 60° yesterday while it rained. We're back to snow this weekend, lol.

  9. We never use ice melt. Mom shovels and then the sun normally takes out the ice on the walk and driveway in a day. If anything she sprinkles some sand on the ice.

  10. Oh yes, stock up on it while you can. Having is better than needing.

  11. Glad you found a new supply, and yes, it does remind me of that overloaded truck. I am sure you did not overload your car...

  16. Boy, you had more ice than we did! I would have thought the opposite would have been so. Bruce is on a cruise to the Bahamas for the week as school had a 1 week break. From the pictures, cerulean blue skies...stunning sunsets...the ocean loos fab! He'll be back this weekend in tie for school. Lucky boy!

  17. Definitely happy you found some Ice Melt! Who knows what's going to happen. We are going down in the 30s Tuesday night... supposedly. It all keeps changing.
Your poem... Ice Melt must be great stuff. We haven't seen snow or ice for 8 years. Hope it stays that way. Hope you don't see any other wintry weather too!

  18. Wow on that last picture! Enjoyed your poem and the header shot with Madi, beautiful! Glad you got your ice melt. It is 45 today and snowing hard. Should go a long way to melt more of the snow. However, we are being promised more snow on Monday!!! I hope they are wrong. I welcomed it at first and now I don't want any more :) Hugs, Denise

  23. A lot of areas got hit way more than us. Just a couple of days of snow - just enough for the neighbor kids to slide down our front yard a few times before they had disentigrated all of it.
We have a bag of ice melt in the shed, but decided to just stay home for a change. (Good excuse - can't get out of our driveway or subdivision, LOL). And that really was cool how that picture so closely depicted the bags of ice melt. Have a great weekend!
