THOROUGHLY POETIC and Thankful THURSDAY #254 AND REMINDER

Today is Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats

Today's photo challenge

No matter where I am, or the season

My mind's eye finds a reason

to see mountains in all their glory.

They are my happy place to go exploring.

Thankful today.

Thankful Thursday hosted

Photo snapped on September 24, 2016

(This picture was taken right outside of Boone, NC in the beautiful NC mountains)
Mom has no idea how she got the pink hue.

  1. Love the picture and your poem. The picture taken in Boone perfectly captures the haze of the Smokey Mountains. I always wished I had moved farther north into the “higher elevations”.

A glorious scene - both generated and photographed! The light in yours is magical (caused by gases from the trees refracting the sunlight...) YAM xx

  5. Oh, I would love to have a view like that of the AI image. Wistful sigh.

Your own photo is even lovelier, such an amazing vista! And a real image, which makes it even better, IMO.

  6. That is a lovely photo of the misty mountains. The poem is lovely too. The view is the ideal to gaze out of the window, and to read books.

  9. Seeing that photo just makes me miss coming down into Virginia to the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area. We went there 13 years in a row in the spring to watch the bird migration of warblers.

  10. Mountains are amazing and we enjoy seeing them and hiking around on them but we just like to be out in any kind of nature wandering and checking out all the sights and smells of the area.

  16. Lulu: "Our Mama and Dada were out that way many years ago! They almost moved to North Carolina before they moved to California."
Java Bean: "Ayyy, I'm glad they came here instead of going there! If they were in North Carolina, who would have adopted all of us?!"

  19. Your photo with the pink sky is so pretty. It's nice that the mountains are your happy place. I think they pretty much are my happy place too but here we are with palms and the beautiful ocean. Enjoyed your poem. I don't think I realized or knew how much you loved the mountains.
