If you had a loving kitty who sat behind your head
and was entertaining with her acrobatics and agility
One would think a loving mom would want to do everything to please
that kitty right?
The correct answer should be obvious...it is
YES
BUT apparently Mom needs to do stuff
and who knows what all.
So I'll be MIA back on Friday July 21.
Remember no matter whether I'm here or not I always send you oodles of hugs and am thinking of you all!

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday on Monday
Mom and I didn't want to miss Angel Sammy's Poetry
Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Angel Sammy has suggested one of these F words:
feast, frog, frosty family
Today's poem is in the form of a rhyming true story from
embellishment
Once upon on a time on a dark, frosty morn
the Dad of Mom aka Papa got up very early.
He gathered his gear
from far and near he was excited.
Mom asked him are you going fishing
He said no, I'm going frog gigging*.
Gigging made mom giggle.
He promised to return with delicious frogs
upon which the family could feast.
Mom told her dad all the frogs she had seen
were skinny and slimy and for sure they would starve.
Her Dad assured her she would never know she waseating frog legs.
He would batter them, fry them
and they would taste like chicken. He was sure for them she would beg.
Oh was he wrong, Mom did not beg
she said Dad you'd have to give me a keg to get me to eat that leg.
*Gigging is the practice of hunting fish or small game with a gig or similar multi-pronged spear. Commonly harvested wildlife include freshwater suckers, saltwater flounder, and small game, such as frogs. A gig can refer to any long pole which has been tipped with a multi-pronged spear.
I'd eat a frog leg! But my human wouldn't. She feels bad for the frogs.
ReplyDeleteha! 4 paws from france for that poem, yes of course hahahaha... your papa would love it to have dinner with da french peeps ;o))))

ReplyDeleteActually here you can get frogs for cooking, but my mom never dared to try. so my chance to have a bite is really rare. Some human says it taste like chicken !

We might like to try some of those frogs legs. Sometimes our mom chops one up when she is mowing the lawn (not on purpose of course) and when we find them we like to roll all over them.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Mom...No frog legs for me. Yuck. Hope you have a good week. We have internet on the class computers. Sometimes we don't.
ReplyDeleteThey all have us wrapped around their paws
ReplyDeleteSnorts,

Hoomins always have stuff to do. And usually not what WE would want them to do. We luff your poem.
ReplyDeleteDang, we're missing you already sweet Madi.
ReplyDeleteWe let the froggies keep their legs! Can't believe you are being abandoned AGAIN! Hope there are some good sun puddles.
ReplyDeleteSee you later!
ReplyDeleteOh Madi you and your Mom did a magnificent job using ALL the prompt words Angel Sammy gave us last week! WOWZERS! I'm afraid I might pass on the frog legs and I kinda think my Mom would too but Mom says everyone says that it tastes like chicken. Mom says if it tastes like chicken then she's gonna fry some REAL CHICKEN and eat that instead of those legs!!! Anyway, I hope you don't miss your Mom and Dad too much while they are away....I bet they will miss you though!

Ghostwriter said she had frog legs a long, long time ago (when dinosaurs walked the earth!) She can't remember what they tasted like. I wanted to eat that little froggy I found in our garage the other day, but Dad wouldn't let me.

Great poem Madi, it would take more than a keg to get me to eat a frog's leg :) XO
ReplyDeleteWe only like to play with frogs. See you soon, Madi....

ReplyDeleteOMD, I loves you poem! I would loves me a froggie to play with! Though, we don't have any around here...I do have lizards, butts they are too hard to catch!
ReplyDeleteTell your Moms to take it easy, and take lots of pics because I just knows there is something funs in the mix!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Please could you not talk of frogs? Miss Oswin might read it and then decide she needs one as well. And I know from experience frogs scream when they are caught by a cat (think nails on blackboard screaming). I rather not hear that sound ever again...
ReplyDeleteMara from Norway
PS: love the poem though, even though it's about frogs and I can not let Miss Oswin read it...
Well done Madi! We hope you enjoy your time at rehab, um we mean the celebrity spa!
