A most AWWWsome day
Thursday April 15, we took a wonderful trek on the N.C. Museum of Art trail. Not far into our walk, we saw the most delightful trio playing at one of the many shallow creeks along the trail: Woody the Lab, Maggie the Burmese Mountain Dog and their mom. Words cannot express how very happy I was that I had my camera. We take the trail often and each time we see something new.
Woody's Mom was about to throw a small stick for him to retrieve. I asked if I could take photos, she said absolutely. We were standing on the bridge.
Please note the size of the stick at the RED ARROW

Mom repeatedly said: Drop, Woody, Drop.
Woody was proud of his stick.

ReplyDeleteBOL... OMD.... that was a brilliant post for awwww Monday!!! Am giggling wildly as I prepare to take breakfast. Can't help but think that Woody wanted to live up to his name!!! YAM xx
We too noted how appropriately Woody is named. We sometimes see Labs carrying HUGE sticks, although Bertie doesn't get the whole retrieving thing (and certainly not if it involves swimming).
ReplyDeleteGail loves all the fresh spring greenery on the trail. We're not quite there yet in Aberdeen.
ooooh we love that playtime report... we would love to be there with that pups... even when we have that water-phobia-thingy ;O)
ReplyDeleteWoody enjoyed his big stick! It reminds me of a horse I had. He would go into the thicket and find the biggest branch he could, then drag it all the way around the field.
ReplyDeleteI can't blame Woody for not wanting to let go of that BIG stick. Reminds me of that video where the dog has a huge stick and is trying to cross a bridge but can't because the stick is too wide! HAHAHA Lucky that you happened upon this scene - made for great viewing!

Great to have come upon this trio! Dogs and sticks are just some wonderful fun. Woody picked a big one. Certainly an Awesome Monday. My stick, my rules... yep!
ReplyDeleteYou knew when you posted this that i would be estatic with JOY... the only thing better than the post would be there watching it in real time.... talk about walk softly and carry a BIG STICK. wow... the only thing that could be a little better is if Woody had a name that started with M, like Mom and Maggie. Maggie was the name I was going to change from Sandra to when I grew up, never did, but I did name a dog Maggie
ReplyDeleteNow that is one huge stick!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this brilliant laugh. And thank the mum of Woody for letting you take the photographs in the first place.

ReplyDeleteIt looks like lots of fun! Love that stick spark - too cute!
ReplyDeleteVery impressive stick. Great spark too. XO
ReplyDeleteThat was sure fun and we love that water romp!
ReplyDeleteThat sure was an awesome stick! There is nothing that makes me happier than watching canines frolic. I am glad that you had your camera. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very fine stick. It's clear why he didn't want to drop it.
ReplyDeleteYou captured a beautiful photo of a family at play.
ReplyDeleteBOL!!! OMD, what funs!!! NEVER, and I means, NEVER let go of a good stick!
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
I think those dogs are crazy, going in the water like that. I bet they like baths, too! Xena (As Angel Lexi said in the Wizard of Oz, I am not a water breed.)
