We love pumpkins
Recently we took a short trip to the NC Farmer's Market to
buy some pumpkins.
Pumpkins pumpkins everywhere and not a pie in sight but evidently Jarrahdales are great for pies. Never heard of them but I asked GiGi Google if they made green pies... this is what I found

oh boy a flying fish? that's just amazing! we hope for a big pumpkin, but by now we saw only orange tennis balls in the stores...

Those pottery kitties are cute. We used to love to watch the flying fish when we cruised in the Caribbean.

bob has seen many of the flying fish, I have seen only one. we had a storm that flooded the streets and the parking lot at the YMCA we had to wade through ankle deep water, I screamed what is that? it was a flying fish in the parking lot. beautiful pumpkin and the white one looks like a canelope on the inside.

ReplyDeleteAUSSIE PUMPKINS!!! The Jarrah is from QLD originally and is the best of pumpkins. Here in the UK our choice of such fruits is very limited. No displays like you saw.

Those cat sculptures are so cute! We would have thought that green pumpkin was green on the inside too. That sure is a cool fish to find.

ReplyDeleteWe got a nice little pumpkin and set it outside by the front steps for decoration. The Evil Squirrel Cartel didn't waste any time taking bites out of it. Crummy tree rats!

WOW! A flying fishie.....and pumpkins as far as the eye can see! I wonder if those Jarrahdales are the ones people call "ghost pumpkins" because of their color?

That sure is a load of pumpkins, Cecilia. Mom and dad were just talking about making a fresh pumpkin pie. We'll see if they follow through. That flying fish is really cool, too.
ReplyDeleteLove how they stacked the pumpkins, and have such a variety! A flying fish! Had no idea they existed of the coast of the Carolinas. Wow.
ReplyDeleteWe have seen some lovely pumpkins around here. And our human sister's nonprofit had a Paint a Pumpkin event and donated them to a local fundraiser for charity. They were just so amazing.
