Wednesday, October 5th, while eating popcorn I heard a not so normal crack in my mouth....
My dentist saw me at 9 am the next day...the verdict was the tooth cracked near the back. I hate it happened. My dentist said the last X-ray on the lower left showed a small fracture in the tooth. So it was inevitable. She told me they have so many cases where kernels break teeth. I think what happened was I picked up several pieces a one time. One was not full popped. I go back this morning for my dentist to prepare the tooth for a crown. Thankfully they now have the skills to make them in house no temporary crown for 10 days and back again. I'll come home tomorrow with my permanent crown. I had one done that way about a year ago I am very pleased with it.
Today I have a 9 am appt . I'll be MIA for about 3 hours
Hugs Cecilia
I'm afraid my reaction to this story is that you should consider yourself fortunate to be in the USA. Had the same thing happened in Aberdeen you would probably still be waiting for the first appointment. (This is based on fact not hearsay - when eating my breakfast muesli a couple of weeks ago a large chunk of a filling came away leaving a jagged and slightly sensitive hole in my mouth. Have determined it is not an 'emergency' my dentist gave me an appointment for late November...)
ReplyDeleteCheers! Gail.
we wish you all the good luck and no pains... to tell the truth I loved the half-popped ones a lot... but now I stay away... for my teeth and for my wallet ...
ReplyDeleteI abhor dental work!!! You are BRAVE.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer this had to happen! Is there nothing safe and fun to eat anymore?!
ReplyDeleteso sorry, with this there is the pain in the purse and the visit to the dentist is not a favorite thing of mine for sure. I am like easy, i love the half popped but will dump those in the trash now. glad they could see you so soon and woooohoooo on same day service of making the crown.. i am thinking that might have costs you as much as our garage door.

ReplyDeleteYet another reason for staying away from that stinky stuff (I gave up going to cinemas because of the smell of popcorn..barf!) You have my sympathy for the tooth - not the food 🤪 A cracked tooth, though, can come away even with a soft bite. Trust me on this one... YAM xx
You already know how I feel about the dentist. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteGirl I'll be getting my hair done but trust me, I WILL be thinking of you. I had that as a close call for me once but I'll just spill the beans about something else.I was at work, and I was eating a stale snack bar. I started crunching on "something" and discretely spat it out into a paper towel. That was the last thing I did discretely, as what happened was one of the 6 teeth I have in a bridge snapped out! I was left looking like a prize fighter!!! After my fellow colleagues were able to stop pointing and laughing...here comes the BIG boss...as it turns out he was notified and came right over...and he smiled. He also had a frobt tooth gap! His had done the same thing! He announced our prize fight to all the entire rest of the day, and debated as to who won! We grinned the rest of the day.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the cracked tooth but at least it will be fixed today. Those are cute Halloween decorations. There are lots of different ones like that in our neighborhood, too.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your tooth. That is why I no longer eat popcorn. It's great that they can do it quickly.
ReplyDelete... well, my dear, it is said that every queen should wear a crown ... so wear it well and proudly!
ReplyDeleteWhat a talllll ghosty in that yard!!
ReplyDeleteGlad the crown will be in, ad the whole toothy incident behind you tomorrow!
Hope the appointment went well! Lee and Phod who love popcorn
ReplyDeleteYIKES...who knew popcorn was so dangerous?????
ReplyDeleteHope your ental work goes well !
ReplyDeleteCool Halloween decorations. Sorry about your tooth. :( XO
ReplyDeleteIt's good they can do it quickly in-house, that's much better than an out-house crown!
ReplyDeleteI hope all went well.
ReplyDeleteHope Queen "C" gets a new CROWN soon.........tee hee
