Awww I think the grape like blooms of Wisteria are beautiful. I can say this since I don't have any growing in my yard. It is considered an invasive vine.

Due to it raining elephants, cats and dogs on Friday the duct work
was postponed til today.
Upstairs duct work has to be accessed in the storage room off my blog office.
So I might be MIA from the desktop while they are in and out of
the storage. But I will catch up.
It is pretty!

ReplyDeleteI have a wisteria in my garden and as long as we trim back the long "tentacles" it is not at all invasive. There are no leaf buds on it yet so I hope it didn't die through the winter due to the very cold December and unusually hot summer.. We have lost a few shrubs including Flynn's rose which has now been replaced. Our plants in this normally moderate climate are not used to extremes.

ReplyDeleteI didn't realize wisteria was invasive. That's not something I see here, maybe it's too cold for too much of the year for it to thrive.

ReplyDeleteI do not care for repair persons in the house and always dread it. hope they can get the job done in one day.. I remember Madi was not fond of them either. did you know there is an elephant in your yard?? MOL MOL... good luck with the duct work. I love wisteria, also glad it is no in my yard. my aunts kindergarten fence was covere in int and was always beautiful.

ReplyDeleteWe have the cabinet guys coming today to finish up the lower cabinets in the kitchen. The quartz guy comes on Wednesday to measure for our countertops. Moving right along. I hear you on having folks in your home. It does make for less blogging.

Those wisteria are so beautiful, especially since they are purple! Having workmen in the house is never any fun. We hope you will be breathing easier after they are done.
ReplyDeleteI love Wisteria, although it caused conflict between my parents. Dad had planted some against the back wall of the Nottingham house. It grew profusely, leading my mother always wanting to cut it back as it was obscuring the kitchen window!

There is a white HUGE Crepe Myrtle up the street and that thing is truly a thing of beauty. I never liked those until I saw that huge one covered extensively with blooms. Prettiest thing I have seen in a long time.

ReplyDeleteWe had a wisteria vine once. It grew into a monster, and even destroyed part of the fence. We decided it wasn't worth the constant work of trimming it back, and it only put out a few measly flowers that only bloomed for a couple days a year, so we cut it down. It still put up sprouts all over the yard for a few years after it was gone. Talk about persistent!

ReplyDeleteI love wisteria but it does get out of hand and actually likes to be kept neat and trim. There are neighbors about five houses way from us who had two "out of control" ones in their front yard which were recently trimmed and they look MAGNIFICENT again! Hope the duct work project was done (or at least started!).
