Thankfuls from Kat and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday #185

Thankful Thursday hosted by

Dearest Auntie HiC

Mom, Dad and I, Kat, would like to thank all our friends who offered so many kind words of encouragement about my recent diabetes diagnosis.

I’ve started on insulin for diabetes.
The peeps received a thorough tutorial from vet tech Rebekah, and then Dad practiced by giving me an injection of saline.
Its worth noting, Dad has an intense aversion to needles, & can’t even watch people receiving shots on TV without feeling queasy.
As you’ll see in the video, he was quite nervous first time, & Mom thought he might pass out, but he did great. I didn’t feel a thing! 😹
We both needed to rest a few minutes before starting home. When I got home, I stretched out & fell asleep.
Dr. Renee said I’ll feel much better in a few days❣️

Your Tabby Friend

KAT

HERE is an update post and video

Kat
bless your Dad’s great big heart, that is full of love for Mom, you, Rocky  and Cali…he steps up and does what is needed for each of you to live your best lives.  He gets 4 hearts and  4 stars and many virtual hugs from auntie 😘
❤️❤️❤️❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy

Here is our challenge

I made a pack with the primates
if they watched my back,
I'll bring them snacks.

Breaking NEWS

The Cat Blogosphere has within recent days set up a BLOGGER NEWS UPDATES ticker-tape which runs continuously atop the main page.

It came about primarily as a way for all of us to provide up to the minute "news" of our many pet
friends who were being impacted by Hurricane Helene but may have lost their normal communication
channels (social media, blogs, etc.)  And now many of those same good friends are in the
path of equally dangerous Hurricane Milton.

We are encouraging all in our pet community to share news you may have of our friends who may not be able to post on regular media.  The ticker-tape is and will be updated frequently as information is received.

  2. Kat's dad is a hero! I also have a strong aversion to needles and know how brave he was. That sounded like a good pact to have with the primates.

  7. Kat, I'm still trying to decide who is the most brave. You or your dad.

  8. Kat your dad did a great job. I'm glad he was able to conquer his fear so that he could help you. LOL...at the poem. Me, no - I don't want them behind me. I'd have to be watching them.

  10. We're glad to hear Kat is doing well and that his dad didn't faint while giving him his test shot. Dad's can learn to do a lot when it comes to helping out their beloved pets.

  16. Kat, I know you will handle your shots and any other treatments like a champ!

  17. Kat, your Daddy sure loves you. Parents often say "This will hurt me more than it hurts you" when they spank a kid, but in the case of your shots we think it is literally true.

  18. We hope that Kat will do very well with her injections. After doing one or two, her Dad will be a pro.

We are very thankful for that ticker on the Catblogosphere site. Nice to be able to check on friends.

  19. I used to faint with needles too, but love won out whenever I needed to give my 4 legged babies shots! I know the same has happened with your dad, too, Kat.
I went to the Catblogosphere site yesterday and did not see a ticker tape at the top. *sigh* It's pretty much how my week has gone.
