We thank our Hostess Sandee at Comedy Plus
The peeps finally left the house Thursday, January 16.
This is what our road looks like almost a week after the icy weather event we posted about it here.
People wonder why schools were closed for several days! Backroads are still a sheet of ice! 🙀

Dear FFT
Auntie was astounded at the roads.
I meant to tell your Mom, I recently talked to a friend at the grocery. Her granddaughter lives in Anchorage. They haven’t had snow in 3 weeks she was jealous of her grandma's itty bitty snow accumulation. I expect if she saw this video she might be visiting your Mountain. PS Auntie loved the music to the video. It is one of my favorite country songs.
wow that is not easy to drive... our people would all land in da road ditch... we are the sunshine drivers hahahaha... btw. love that song..

ReplyDeleteNope, I would not be driving that! As I set off today for the north east, the plan is to stick to the main roads form a change. More likely to have been gritted and lots of help to eave down if needed! YAM xx
Drive carefully - it's sure pretty but I would be enjoying the beauty on foot.
ReplyDeleteWe are possibly getting ice and maybe snow here in South Mississippi tonight or tomorrow. LOL... the news said to put your snow chains in your car. That's funny. I told the hubby, I bet there wasn't 100 people in the whole State who owned them in Mississippi.
ReplyDeleteI love that song and it fits perfectly. yikes on driving on that, I could not do it. its lovely to SEE but not to BE there. thanks for sharing. Odd about the no snow in Alaska, seems the weather is turned inside out. all we need to do to keep it getting worse is burn more fuel...
ReplyDeleteThat road was definitely not school bus friendly when your family was driving that day. No wonder schools were closed. Of course up here they've been closed three or four times because of snow but the next day the roads were clear. Bitter cold this morning with 5°
ReplyDeleteNo one likes ice, just plain snow. Ice is way too dangerous unless you are on ice skates.
ReplyDeleteIce is no fun to drive on! We rarely get snow but regularly get ice. Living down a narrow country lane we don't get gritters, so all the water from the rain runs out of the fields and hedges and down the road where it freezes when the temperatures drop. Thankfully it doesn't usually last long, but one winter it built up to 5-6 inches thick and stayed for 2 months. Tractors were the only mode of transport then. Even the 4x4s had problems.
ReplyDeleteI've driven on icy roads before and it's no fun. I like the music to the video.
ReplyDeleteSnow! Ice! Cold! Do we remember how only a few months ago we were complaining about blistering heat and humidity ...
ReplyDeleteThat video takes me back to Missour-ee winters! It was a beautiful wintry drive but I'm glad I wasn't driving! Stay safe and warm Fuzzy Faced Trio and Peeps!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful view, but we wouldn't want to be driving on those icy roads either.
ReplyDeleteMy mom is such a coward about driving on ice. WHEW!
ReplyDeleteI've not driven in that kind of winter roads in many years. Well done. I know safety is at the top of your to-do list.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs to Auntie C. ♥
Yeah the backroads, the neighborhood roads are bad. Once you hit the highways it's ok, but you've got to safely get there first. Plus, these temps are really low and dangerous for many to be out and about. Luckily, we leave home for the winter months and are in SC, where the sun is out; but even here, it's only 30 ish today. However, back home it's only 1 degree this morning. Me, I'm counting down til Spring. Stay safe on the roads.
ReplyDeleteIce makes for the worst traveling.
ReplyDeleteIce is not fun ~ driving or walking ~ neat photo ~ We just got snow ~ about 4 inches just enough to make it difficult to walk ~ sigh ~ but we did our walk ~
ReplyDeleteHugs to you Cecilia and Angel Madi ~ ^_^
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

We don't really live on a backroad in the country, but it has been so cold here that we still have ice on our street, never mind the sidewalks.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Misty and Timber
That is quite the snowy neck of the woods out there!
ReplyDeleteYikes! Our roads get cleaned pretty quickly. XO
ReplyDeleteIt's sure been a crazy winter. Here in Chatt town, we've had 4 inches of snow, now melted, and now temps in the low teens. Schools were closed today because of the cold, and in one county north of us all the schools are closed for the next 2 days. I'm so thankful we have reliable heat.
ReplyDeleteWe've got snow now, and in Louisiana snow chains or studs are illegal and no one has snow tires. Most of us are hanging tight at home, and those who aren't are causing accidents and straining emergency services. At least it should be gone soon.
