Nature Friday and 10th Day Before...

Recently
WE took a road trip ~12 miles from home~ on Monday December 3.
(5 miles from hustling bustling Downtown Raleigh)
My dear husband is always on the look out for interesting locations to visit
for my blog!!  Madi was my inspiration...now Dear Hubby is my Driver and Inspiration

Yates Mill is quite historic and  as you can see from the plaques below.

Now for those who are lovers of water falls and lakes...

Just a few days after we took the above pictures when it was 69 degrees
Mother Nature left her calling card: 9" of snow

Taken 7 am on December 9th

  2. that was so intresting... and what a fabulous place with such a giant grinder stone... the mama said she would like to live there... but we think with the constant noise of the water she would spend her life in da bathroom LOL

  3. Very cool photos of the Mill, Cecilia. Love the water scenes. What are you using to shoot your photos now? Is that poor Gracie sitting out there????? I am so happy it is melting and it looks like a clean melt. The rain should take care of the rest! Sweet little ginger kitty and white pup in the Ten Gifts. Good Morning!

  5. Hey there Cecilia, that place is awesome, isn't it? Cleo's mom and I took a visiting Pittsburgh friend there recently and got some great photos as well. That dam sure is beautiful. Thank you for your comments about the storm. We did okay, but after 4 consecutive days of shoveling and salting these old arms and back have had their fill for the winter. And now we're worrying about flooding! Stay safe and dry, and have a great weekend over there.

  6. I need to use the little girls' room now after all those photos of waterfalls!

So far, we have not any snow and for my part it can stay away until the Christmas holidays. Then it can come as long as it's gone again by the time I get back to work in the New Year! Not picky at all me...

  10. What a beautiful place that mill was to visit. You have more snow than we do right now! All our snow is expected to be melted by the end of the day since our temps are getting into the 40's.

I was wondering how you were doing with all that snow. We had a little a few weeks ago, but it is all melted.
