Today we join Two SPOLED CATS
Here is today's inspiration
Falls Lake State Recreation Area is
38,000 acres of aquatic paradise offering recreations 7 different recreation areas swimming, boating, fishing, mountain bike and walking trails and picnic shelters. We will be going back to take trails but today I'm showing you the area around the welcome center.
The lake is named for the Falls of the Neuse, a once whitewater section of the river that fell from the Piedmont into the lower Coastal Plain submerged during construction of the lake.
The lake provides drinking water for several of the surrounding communities, including the city of Raleigh, aids with flood control and serves as a recreation area and wildlife habitat.
Work on the dam that holds the lake began in 1978 and was completed in 1981.
love it... and the name falls lake fits LOL

The lake looks lovely, and such a beautiful blue sky.
ReplyDeleteLove your poem and the picture. I wouldn't be in that position ever either! Falls Lake is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYep, ETA was still pretty much full of herself by the time she got to you. I so enjoy the Lake pictures. I think the water calls to you just like it calls to us. It is a beautiful source of calm. I am going to check out the map again and see the water areas. I had no idea how many Lakes you had close to you!
ReplyDeleteCute poem... hahaha, love the picture.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! That's a lot of water.
That sure is a pretty lake area and your poem was purrfect! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place to visit. We can't wait to see what else is there when it dries out a bit.
ReplyDeleteTo your poem I'd add: don't break your hip!
ReplyDeleteThe Lake looks so pretty! It must have been a big project to build it.
I thought the same thing as easy Ted about the name Falls Lake how appropriate! It really is beautiful. We have one here and it's a fishing camp but the reservoir that furnishes all the water for our County. I've often wondered if fish are swimming around and the water we drink haha kinda icky. You would never catch me on that skateboard even with somebody holding my hand and the neither one of them look like they could hold the other one up but it is an absolutely adorable picture
ReplyDeleteOldsters don't bounce like kidlets do!
ReplyDeleteI've never been skateboarding, but as a kid and young adult, I would rollerskate...so much fun!
