Crafty Saturday

Latest play mat for Project Linus
I had just a small piece of kitty fabric (at top) to make 2-5" sqs
I bought the pastel polka dot fabric which I used on the front and for the backing.
One thing I have decided is I am not a pastel kinda gal.

My stash consisted of several leftover 5" flannel sqs that I originally bought for
the play mat (below) that I posted several weeks ago.
Both mats are the same pattern; however, I really like the vivid bright colors on the one below.

Feline and Nature Friday

Thanks Comedy Plus for hosting

Thanks LLB Gang for hosting

Frisco absolutely adores Mia
Mia tolerates Frisco...she is a Tortie...with a serious Tude

We have two Ruby Loropetalum in the front yard
They have been full of blooms since early February.

Ruby Loropetalum, also known as Ruby Chinese Fringe Flower, is a compact, rounded evergreen shrub works well as a foundation planting or hedge. Deep purple foliage becomes green as it matures. Fragrant, pink flowers in spring add to this shrub's appeal. Flowers sporadically throughout the summer.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday #10

Today we join Two  SPOILED CATS
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

Here is today's inspiration

Memories by Me

Up in the attic times gone by
flash before my eyes.
Everything I see tells a story
of life and all it's glory.
Saddle oxfords, bobby socks and box pleat skirts.
Swaying and dancing to the Beatles "wanting to hold my hand".
Elvis LPs  played over and over, he was my favorite.
When I saw Blue Hawaii, I quietly sang along.
Learning to sew.
When you live in the South, ice skates are not found.
Many Saturdays were spent rockin' and rollin' at the rink
in my roller skates as the mirror ball turn round and round.
Lava lamps were mesmerizing, hula hoops challenging.
Awww sweet memories of a childhood that was
GOOD!!

I still have all of my LPs from the 1960's
including Blue Hawaii and the Beatles that are in today's photo inspiration. We have a turn table from the 1980's

Happy Tuesday

Last week I decided it was time to finish using the leftover jelly roll I bought with Rt. 66 on it and RV's.

I used it on two throws and a table runner

I had two churn dash blocks (the design on the front of each pillow) made that were collecting dust.
I had just enough 2 1/2" strips of the Rt.66 RV fabric to
make borders to go around the blocks.

I made two new throw pillows
The red fabric on the back of each was also fabric I found in my
'stash'.  The only thing I had to buy for this project was
a $10.00 bag of stuffing for the pillows.  Not patting myself on the
back but I think pillows like these in a store could easily
sale for $30.00 each.

I think they look nice on the deacons bench and the family room
couch. No quilting on the pillows since they are stuffed.
