My first Word(less) Wednesday

My (1st) Wordless Wednesday

July 14,  2009

Thank goodness over the last 8 years Mom has learned how to take  photos of this
Diva...and she follows me everywhere. It is rare that she is wordless too.

Mom is fascinated with J Crew windows

According to what is on the window this is their 'back to school' window.
Normally they paint the walls before a new window display.  Not this time
so Mom thinks this might be one of many back to school window displays.
The giant whirligigs* are interesting too. At first mom thought palm trees Dad set
straight.

*A whirligig is an object that spins or whirls, or has at least one part that spins or whirls.
Whirligigs are also known as pinwheels, buzzers, comic weathervanes, gee-haws,
spinners, whirlygigs, whirlijig, whirlyjig, whirlybird, or plain whirly.

  6. That is one giant stretch Madi! Shop windows are often impossible to figure out - I think some of the people in charge of "decorating" just throw a bunch of stuff up there and hope for the best but the ones that have a REAL THEME - now those are cool!

  8. I love taking photos in windows, and once was run off by a security guard that said no photos allowed of the windows, that was in our hoity toity Lakewood Ranch... I first thought palm trees to, but second glance it is pin wheels. nothing like the back to school when I was in school or even when my kids were in school

  14. In June (before school stopped for the summer) there was an ad somewhere about 'going back to school'. It was the most depressing thing! And I don't even go to school!!

  17. My Manx used to "wear" my husband's houseshoes for his naps. It always made me laugh. I love the term whirligig but I thought they were palm trees too! LOL!

  18. But...but...they cut the pinwheel edges like palm tree leaves! So, whirligig or palm trees...I cannot believe it's back-to-school time!

  23. You sure look comfy stretching out on your bed. We think both your mom and dad are correct. They are whirligigs made to look like palm trees.
