Caturday Art

Chelle, one of my friends in Florida, took a day trip to Blue Spring State Park
last weekend to see the lovely and graceful Manatees.
She snapped several photos of them floating about but they were quite disguise by the water.  To remember the wonderful day she bought  a refridgerator magnet.

Nature, Feline FlashBack, Friday Fill ins

Nature Friday host LLB Gang   Click here Hostess Miss Mimi

On Thursday February 22, 2024 our favortie landscaping guys (all young and with very strong backs).  Arrived to work their magic in our yard they did lots of things;  however, this was the most anticipated.

Photo on the left is before they dug up weeds that had roots all the way to Austrailia.  Over the years, we have been very unsuccessful, here in our part of NC we are blessed with red clay that is as hard a concrete. The young men were very SUCCESSFUL.  They  planted 5  Evergold Carex, carefully cut holes in the weed cloth fitting it over each plant.  The covered the weed cloth with beautiful Delaware Rocks. Our mailbox area has been transformed form an eye sore to eye candy.

Carex oshimensis 'Evergold' grows best in shade to part shade, but it is durable and adaptable, and will grow in sun in cool climates. Evergold Sedge can tolerate drought once established. Likes well-drained soil.  It is low growing and will fill in nicely around the mailbox.

"OUR' Chair

Last Saturday morning we were having a leisurely breakfast
and reading the newspaper.
Madi was being very loving, lots of head bumps,
nose taps to my hand and purrs.  As it turns out,
she was COVETING 'our' chair.
I left for just a few minutes. When I returned,
this is what I found.......(I'm looking down on her)
She had taken over 'our' chair.....and she looked
So cute I left her there.

1.My favorite place to read is any time I am finally sitting down.
2.My favorite genre to read is, Our State Magazine,
fictions of all kinds, comedy, anything about Cats and animals.
3.Homer's Odyssey, Dewey the Library Cat, Marley and Me and Amazing Grace
about a Great Dane are books I could read over and over again
and so many more.
4. I read Evergreen by Belva Plain in the early 1980's.  It reminded
me how much I enjoyed reading and sharing books with my daughter.
Once again I started taking weekly trips to the library.

Thank you Ann, for this great badge.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday #155

Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy

Here is the photo challenge

Splish Splash I'm not taking a bath
by Cecilia

My home sits smack in the middle of NC.
Just three hours West you can climb Hills
Three hours East you can stick your toes in the Sea.
If it is a thrill you seek,
head west to Bryson City.
A short trip to the top of the mountain,
will take you to NOC
Adventures galore await you there.
You will find so much to do your head will spin.
Once you are ready to descend you have a choice: train or raft
If you are daft, you can ride a raft.
If you have a brain, you can ride a train.
We have done this several times; however,
we always ride the rail. No way we
want to splish splash in the rapids or chance
falling out on our heads.
*********************
Side note: the train tracks run parallel to the rapids
you can experience the "fun" virtually, as you watch everyone
in the rafts.

This is a red letter photo of  Harper on the foot rest of their

Daddy's chair....while Mia sits in her Daddy's lap. Mia is a Daddy's girl.

The look  she is giving her Daddy seems to say

"Daddy do something about this"!

Happy to say since our visit in December Harper has learned to contained her desire to be right up in Mia's face. Mia is A ok with sitting together. Frisco adores Harper.  Harper can't understand why Mia is kind of indifferent.  MOL MOL

Dearest Auntie HiC

We usually don’t like being held for very long. We start squirming & kicking our back legs.

But, when Dad picks us up, & starts rubbing our heads with his whiskers, we just melt into happiness!

We bet Mom wishes she had whiskers, too❣️😹❤️

❤️ Kat & Rocky

OMCs Kat and Rocky!!
Mol mol mol your Dad has magic whiskers. I love this a bunch.
Ummm If Mom would stop shaving her legs you could each have a whiskery leg!!⁉️
