Dearest Auntie HiC

 Cali has finally recognized my awesomeness & wants to be my BFS (Best Feline Sister).

I had the best Canine Sister, Angel Dakota.  She was fluffy, warm, & gentle. Mom adopted her after being rescued from a horrible hoarding situation. She was the most forgiving creature Mom has ever known.

I do hope Cali & I will cuddle someday, but in the meantime, she needs to understand there are times when I need a little space; like nap time! Good grief! 😹

Dearest Kat I remember Dakota fondly she had the most amazing Golden Smile and angelic personality.  She truly recognized she was in a loving home and returned that love every day to everyone in her new home with you all.

Nature from NC #6 today I'm featuring

The Honeybee

In 1973, the NC General Assembly recognized the importance of the Honeybee to our agriculture industry by designating it as our Sate Insect.

Recently, we saw these beautiful Coffee Mugs for sale in the

December issue of Our State Magazine.  They hold 16 ounces

The handle is a perfect size for gripping and the lip of the cup is thin for drinking.

On Friday, (12/6/24) Rosy, Sunny and Beth wrote on their blog that from that day forward they will be dedicating their Nature Friday's

In Memory of... Gail.  What a beautiful idea.  I, too, would like to dedicate mine to Gail and Nobby.

Since it’s my FIRST Christmas (in case anyone has forgotten 😹), I got to help Mom prepare the Christmas goodie bags for our veterinarians’ office.

We appreciate all they do to help keep us healthy & happy, and they provide the peeps patience, understanding, and peace of mind.

We sent tins of popcorn, mini muffins, & cookies.

I was thinking about jumping into one of the bags until Kat reminded me the bags were heading to the VET!

 I'll stay home  

BUT remember.... we love everyone at our Vet Clinic💏💗 We thank you for your devotion and tender loving care to

all who come thru your doors,

Dad, Mom, Cali, Kat, Rocky and all of the angels who lived their best lives here on our Mountain in Georgia.

Twas the night after Christmas,

St Nick was the only one fast asleep 

The neighbors all gathered outside on the lawn,

in hopes of counting sugarplum fairies.

When much to their amazing eyes, 

 a group so large their eyes were surprised.

Santas, Snowmen, toy soldiers but no Sugar Plum Fairies

appeared...all singing and smiling

We received our annual Christmas card from Mom’s former student, Fusako, who lives in Japan!  Mom taught her in kindergarten when she and her family moved to Georgia for her Dad's work.

Fusako knows Mom is a Crazy Cat Lady, & she found the most adorable card.

Since this is my first Christmas, Mom says I can keep it close to my igloo!

Next three photos are were taken in the former location of Seaboard Cafe.

First photo was Seaboard's Kitchen

Logan's Trading and Garden Centered owned the entire building

when Seaboard Cafe closed on 9/28/24, Logan's took down the heavy plexiglass wall on the left of the photo they moved most of their Christmas plants and decor into former dining room of Seaboard.

It actually made a beautiful display area.

Our volunteer Holly Bush is full of Berries and the Birds love them and this makes us happy.

 

We had a lovely visit with our daughter and son in law...and of course the 3 grandkitties.

SO many photos to sort through...they had a big surprise for us.  A behind the scenes tour of Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium

Awww Monday a Christmas Miracle from Georgia

 

 We thank our Hostess Sandee at Comedy Plus   

Cali is a lot friendlier to us these days. We can’t even remember the last time she hissed at us. But you won’t believe what happened today! 🙀

We were resting on Dad’s recliner (circa 1971), when we both felt a disturbance in the force! 😹

Before we knew what happened, Cali

was on the armchair, in our spaces & our faces!

We were both frozen with fear, and one of us was sitting on the other one’s leg!

The entire encountered only lasted 2-3 minutes, and fortunately, Dad was there to capture these pictures!

We’re still wondering if it was all a catnip induced dream! 😸
