THOROUGHLY POETIC and Thankful THURSDAY #261

Today is Poetic Thursday hosted by our pals Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats

Today's photo challenge

I have just a wee true loo story..
When I was a child my parents, and I were invited to supper at
their friend's home.  Of course, like all little girls,
a loo visit was required. Imagine my surprise
when into the loo I go...oh my it was all black
sink, floor, loo, tub and shower with gold fixtures.

Dear Auntie HiC,
I hope Katie Isabella can look into my eyes and see the love I have for her!

Enjoy my love song to you, Katie❣️

Nature and Feline Friday with my grand kitty

  Nature Friday host LLB Gang

We have been subscribing to Our State Magazine for at least 45 years.
We are always amazed by the variety of articles and the covers are exquisite.
Below is our May edition.

The caption on the cover describes the alpacas as Party Animals
Describes them as affable, alpacas.  Meet Max, Hercules, and Casanova
they live at Winchester Creek Farm in Waynesville, NC.  The beautiful NC are in the background

Alpacas first arrived in US from the Andes in 1984, and now North Carolina is home to more that 5,000 of them.  Young alpacas are called crias.  They are socialized early along side their Moms.

HAPPY 6TH GOTCH DAY TO ROCKY and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday#260

Dear Auntie HiC,

Can you believe the Cat Distribution System delivered me on The Hill 6 years ago?
I was a shy and timid little kitty, but I knew I had found my forever home as soon as Mom said, “Hello, sweetie!”

I’m now a confident, chill, and affectionate boy!

I owe most of my happiness in my forever home to Kat, my best friend!

It’s true what The Beatles said, “All You Need is Love”❣️
Let’s all sing it together… 🎶🎶🎶🎶

 ❤️ Rocky

Dearest Nephew Rocky...Oh how well I remember that day...you walked up on to Mt. Harland.  Proof Pawsitive that Gingers are not only handsome, funny and smart BUT MOSTLY BRAVE and fearless!!

Lovingly your proud Auntie HiC

BRYAN Thanks everyone for your kind birthday wishes yesterday.
For his birthday,  I prepared skillet rib eyes, with mushrooms and onions sautéed in red wine vinegar.
We also had baked potatoes and French bread.
Favorite sissy and brother in law of Angel Madi, sent him a
mixed nut and dried fruit tray from Nut Cravin'

Nature. Final Feature and Feline Friday

  Nature Friday host LLB Gang

Today my Nature and Final Feature Friday are a flash back from our trip to Colorado Springs in 2017

In 2017 we were on the road from Colorado Springs to the Denver airport to catch our flight home.  Our tour guide told us we had about 20 extra minutes to spare.
She said we'd be passing right by the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
She asked if we were interested in stopping by for a quick ride around the campus and to see the Cadet Chapel.  Everyone was very interested. When I say quick I mean quick, but I made use of the time and was able to get some beautiful photos.

U.S.A.F Academy was established in 1955 at Lowry AF Base, CO.
It moved to its permanent location in 1958.  It is a free tourist destination.  There is a huge Visitor's center(31,600 sq ft) facility that we did not have time to visit.  From the visitor's center you can walk 1/3 mile paved trails to the Cadet Chapel, which is the most visited man made tourist attraction in Colorado. The chapel features 17 spires that each 150' toward the beautiful Colorado blue skies.
Close up of the spires
side view of the spires as you are walking through the Honor Court to the

front entrance of the Cadet Chapel

A few of the bronze statutes in  the  Honor Court and aircraft memorials

Within the Chapel one can find a Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Buddhist and All Faith worship spaces.
Due to the time we had I was only able to see the Protestant and Catholic Chapels.

The pipe organ in the Protestant Cadet Chapel was breathtaking.
It is the 3rd largest pipe organ in an building that is not a church
click here to view a YouTube Video of the pipe organ in use
Weddings, funerals and other memorial services are regularly held here too.

Alter in the Protestant Chapel

The most unusual architecture  was amazing as were the stain glass windows

Catholic Chapel

Next summer the entire structure will be closed for 4 years to undergo major repairs and renovation.
Click here to read about it
The architecture was years and years ahead of the actual building abilities.
We were told it leaks like a sieve in heavy rain.
I could have easily spent 1/2 a day looking at everything.  Since this visit was not on our agenda, I was just happy to see what I could.
