Wordless Wednesday

Thanks to our

Hostess Sandee at Comedy Plus

The Bluffs Lodge and Coffee Shop opened in 1947 when Doughton Park was still call the Bluffs Park.  They were an institution along the Blue Ridge Park way until being closed in 2011.  These are the last unused photos in from my June 2021 vacation file.

For Three Million bucks this beautiful land  could be yours
The Lodge has a serious case of mold, more than likely it will have to be torn down.

Note from the nephews regarding the adorable ladybug rocks on yesterday's post.
Their peeps collected the rocks during their trip to Colorado this past spring.
When they got home, they artistically turned them into ladybugs
If you missed seeing them, here is the photo again.

Happy Tuesday with my Nephews!!

Hosted by Comedy Plus

Just a quick Peach 🍑 Report from GA. I give them 4 Paws  🐾 Down.🙀  I checked the labels, and they came from a farm (Lane’s) in middle Georgia, that usually has the BEST.

They looked and smelled pretty good, but Mom said: YUCK! 😜
She said she’ll try again and keep you posted.

We’re learning to embrace, and be thankful for all the rain we’ve received this summer.

There are so many regions suffering with extreme heat, and drought.

Take a minute to relax, and enjoy the peaceful Appalachian Rain.

Next up is Kat starring in a 28 second video
Sound on:
two links of same video I think the first takes you right to the video

❤️ Kat, Pup, and Rocky

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my precious Nephews.  Thank you for the email, photos and video!!
Rocky, the thing very positive about the Peaches is  Y O U!!! They match your beautiful furs and are even a week bit fuzzy. Now as for the taste I 100% agree with Mom.  What the COD is wrong with peaches this year, especially the peachy STATE of Georgia?   NC normally has tasty ones too ours have been gorgeous, smell yummy BUT are so mushy just disgusting.  We love them here too but after 2 different times of buying them we haven't bought anymore.

Pup...I'm a sucker for your sweet face and adorable smile.  Coupling those 2 things with a Lady Bug and her gorgeous RED coat makes and Auntie HiC is on cloud 9 with glee!!

What a messed up weather system everywhere. Everything is EXTREME: heat, rain and the horrible fires.   Kat darling I do so love the sound of rain and it appears you do too.  I spy your sweet white paw too. The music Mom selected for the video is PURRFECT
Lovingly your Auntie HiC

Feline and Nature Friday

Nature Friday host LLB Gang  and Feline Friday  host Comedy Plus

My Feline Nephews
I thank, Kit, my feline photo journalist and Mom to the nephews, for sharing this adorable photo

About 10 days ago the staff of Murphy and Stanley took them on a short trip in their home on wheels.  They went to Twin Falls, Idaho
Snake River
Twin Falls is a city in southern Idaho. It’s known as a gateway to Snake River Canyon, which lies just to the north. At the canyon’s eastern end, Shoshone Falls cascades over a broad series of rocks. Trails along the canyon rim lead to the towering Perrine Bridge,
which offers panoramic views and is a popular launching point for BASE jumpers. At the town’s northern edge, Perrine Coulee Falls tumbles over a cliff. ― Google

Bridge at Twin Falls the itty bitty specks on the bridge are cars.

Of course Bob and Carol took their bikes
Bike trail overlooking falls.

Normally there is more water but that area has been extremely dry
Side note temperatures on their trip were in the triple digits.

They also visited the site of Evel Knievel's motorcycle ramp

Robert Craig Knievel (/kˈnvəl/; October 17, 1938 – November 30, 2007), professionally known as Evel Knievel, was an American stunt performer and entertainer. Over the course of his career, he attempted more than 75 ramp-to-ramp motorcycle jumps. Knievel decided upon his nickname after spending the night in a jail cell after illegally attempting a stunt. He was in a cell next to a gentleman called Arthur Knauful [pronounced nor-full] who because of his vicious behaviour had gotten the nickname “Awful Knaufull” which led to Robert coming up with the nickname “Evel Knievel”.

Evel Knievel built for practicing his stunts.

I thank, another photo journalist, Carol for these absolutely stunning photos she shared.

Happy Tuesday with Rocketman aka Rocky

Thank you Comedy Plus for hosting

Last Wednesday I received the following email from Mom of Rocky, Pup and Kat: Mom Kit sent me a photo of their mantle and their beautiful pottery.  I prepared a little re-enactment.

When I came in from cutting the grass, Rocky was on the mantle. 😜He must have jumped from (cold) wood stove.  But we are not sure so we are asking our friends what they think? Did he take route 1, 2 or 3?

He looked quite proud of his accomplishment until I helped him down. Sitting in the middle looking for are safe way down!! I helped him!! I have my most expensive collectible pottery pieces by John Meaders and family, a local potter, on my mantle. I thought they were safe?!MOL

I taught his grandchildren now I need to teach Rocky.

CLICK HERE to see other beautiful pieces.

Dearest Rocky(man) Uncle and I had a great big giggle at your latest feline trick.  OMCs if a cat wants to go some where IT WILL.  It amazes be how agile you felines are though.  Angel Madi loved the mantle and amazed that her back feet appeared to have eyes on them.  I am confident you Mom will be sure you UNLEARN this new trick.

Nature and Feline Friday from my nephews

Nature Friday host LLB Gang  and Feline Friday  host Comedy Plus
Dearest Auntie HiC
First of all we are settled back into our routine at home.  It took us all a while to get used to alllllllllllll the space we have here.

We had a visitor on our deck  Monday (July 12)  morning...Dad sent it on its way
before we could get too upset, butt he left his pawgraph for us

  Here is a short video

Lovingly your nephews,
Pup, Kat and Rocky

Tuesday morning a young bear was spotted in a tree on the campus of Rex Hospital which is about a mile from the NC Museum of Art trail where we often take our walks... This hospital is smack in the middle of the city.  I suspect the bear might live in the woods near the Art museum.  Police and wild life biologist planned to remain on site hoping he will come down on his own.

here is his photo

GOL (growl out loud).  He who growls last wins the prize.
Rex (I named him that since he was spotted on the hospital campus) the black bear, was lured down around midnight, July 13, with donuts and sardines. Wildlife officers left a trail of goodies on a path toward a wooded area.
After getting donuts and sardines, I predict Rex might come back for seconds.  However, I hope he learned his lesson.

Feline Friday:

My feline nephews sent me this adorable cartoon.
If you have been or are owned by a cat, you are smiling!
