Continued...what was behind the plastic

Dad had cabinets built in his train room...I'm sure they are for this kitty has had something to play on.

Pictures taken Week of 9/3/18

The cabinet, shelves and doors have all been painted. However, due to all the humidity they are slow drying we were told to leave them open for a WHILE.  NOW the painter has to come back for touch up work on the doors.  Maybe by first frost we can close them.
Also we are waiting on the laminate top to be installed.

Back on Monday..... 9/17/18

Thoroughly Poetic Pictorial Thursday

Today we join Two  SPOILED CAT
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

Here is today's photo prompt
We thank Mom Pam for all the effort she puts into finding
these lovely photos for us.

Ohhhh what a fun photo. Mom loves fog, leaves and benches in parks
She had to decided if she could incorporate all in one poem.

The Bench
by Madi and Mom

Nestle just off the path among the technicolor leaves.
it has been sitting here for many a year.
Slightly slanted and low just perfect to sit with ease.
The fog in the background creating a scene of mystery.
If it could talk,it would say "sit a spell.
My job here is to offer relief for weary feet.
Tell me your stories of  happiness and love...give your sorrow and grief to the breeze.
No worries my friend just take a seat."

We thank Aunty Kit for this, we giggled when we saw it.

What's up at Manor Madi?

I've been tirelessly watching and wondering about all these
goings on too?

Let me just tell you this thing on my deck was very pretty in color but it was loud
Mr. F was building new top pieces for our deck planters...
this time they are made of hardi planck which is cement based

It is the hope of Dad of the Manor that the squirrels will not be able to
eat through the tops of the planters any more.

Planters and deck before
our deck is 16 years old so  the peeps decided to
to stain it Gray Birch rather than just a clear color.
It now has a new lease on life.  The beige planter tops are the
the new 'squirrel proof' tops we hope.

There have been worker bees inside too. Of course I inspected things thoroughly..
OMCs this is Dad's train room what in the world is going on in there?
Come back on Friday to see what is behind the plastic curtain

Hurricane update:
We are as prepared as we can get here.  Mom even has things ready for Sissy and BIL
and Mia and Frisco.  Sissy and BIL were on vacation in Maine.  They cut they vacation short by 3 days to get home.  They knew the pet sitter would not be able to get the the kitties once the
storm hits.  Sissy and BIL live on the NC Coast.  They flew into Charlotte tonight.
When they arrived they found out their flight from Charlotte to New Bern was canceled due to
the pending storm.  They rented a car in Charlotte for the 5 hour drive to New Bern airport where they left their car.  WHAT A day full of stress for them.  Mom told them they needed some serious kitty loving.  We'll talk to them in the am to find out their plans.
PS I've never met Mia and Frisco...in the furs...just via PicMonkey. MOL
Mom says I have mellowed with age.

Tuesday Tale: How we looked after Dad on Monday

Dad was not able to go about his normal routine after his cataract surgery...
MOL don't tell him I told you this but he looked like a Pirate he had a patch over his eye.
And he could not wear his glasses so Mom and I kept him entertained.  WE all sat up in the Blog office listening to Pandora radio streaming through the puter and I made sure I stayed close by too.
I let Dad stroke my furs cause it makes him happy and I purred a lot.  He was a
very good patient and very appreciative too.
He said thank you 87 times...

Mom's job was chief eye dropper lady and she read to dad.
We have a subscription to "Our State Magazine"
September cover shown below.  Each issue has a quiz about NC facts in it.
We have at least 87 issues.  Mom wanted to make sure Dad's brain stayed active so she went through lots of the magazines giving dad the quiz.  I must say I was impressed with just how very
smart my dad is and how well he did on the quizzes.  Mom gave him an overall average of 98!!

BREAKING NEWS
Dad's first cataract surgery was a success.  The pre-op took longer than the actual surgery.
Mom says he is being a very good patient with all the drops
3 different kinds 4 xs a day.  1 for just a week, 1 for 5 weeks total and the last for a month.
THEN it is rinse and repeat again for his 2nd surgery on 10/8.
thank you all for your kind words and healing wishes.

our un😒😒amused faces
OK that crazy witch hurricane Florence is churning up a witch's brew heading right for
NC coast and inland.  She is supposed to move quickly over the coastal plains the
she is supposed to stall of our area dropping possibly 10" of rain and sustained winds of 40mph
here.  So if we disappear it will be due to lack of power.  As long as we have power we'll
be visiting.  We are certainly purring and pray something will make her change her course and head back out into the middle of the Atlantic.

NEVER EVER NO NEVER FORGET!!!

We would like to say thank you to all the first responders and our Armed Forces for
all they do to protect us and to the families and friends of those who lost their lives on
9/11...they are never forgotten
God bless America.
