Dad was not able to go about his normal routine after his cataract surgery...
MOL don't tell him I told you this but he looked like a Pirate he had a patch over his eye.
And he could not wear his glasses so Mom and I kept him entertained. WE all sat up in the Blog office listening to Pandora radio streaming through the puter and I made sure I stayed close by too.
I let Dad stroke my furs cause it makes him happy and I purred a lot. He was a
very good patient and very appreciative too.
He said thank you 87 times...
Mom's job was chief eye dropper lady and she read to dad.
We have a subscription to "Our State Magazine"
September cover shown below. Each issue has a quiz about NC facts in it.
We have at least 87 issues. Mom wanted to make sure Dad's brain stayed active so she went through lots of the magazines giving dad the quiz. I must say I was impressed with just how very
smart my dad is and how well he did on the quizzes. Mom gave him an overall average of 98!!
BREAKING NEWS
Dad's first cataract surgery was a success. The pre-op took longer than the actual surgery.
Mom says he is being a very good patient with all the drops
3 different kinds 4 xs a day. 1 for just a week, 1 for 5 weeks total and the last for a month.
THEN it is rinse and repeat again for his 2nd surgery on 10/8.
thank you all for your kind words and healing wishes.
our un😒😒amused faces
OK that crazy witch hurricane Florence is churning up a witch's brew heading right for
NC coast and inland. She is supposed to move quickly over the coastal plains the
she is supposed to stall of our area dropping possibly 10" of rain and sustained winds of 40mph
here. So if we disappear it will be due to lack of power. As long as we have power we'll
be visiting. We are certainly purring and pray something will make her change her course and head back out into the middle of the Atlantic.
NEVER EVER NO NEVER FORGET!!!
We would like to say thank you to all the first responders and our Armed Forces for
all they do to protect us and to the families and friends of those who lost their lives on
9/11...they are never forgotten
God bless America.
It sounds like you and your human did a great job of nursing your male human! I'll be purring lots for you while the hurricane is making its way through your area.
ReplyDeleteYour Dad is very lucky having such loving and creative nurses. Gail is very familiar with the eye drops thing, and has memories of a Christmas dominated by administering drops to her own Dad after he had a cataract operation, when he also had glaucoma (more drops) and dementia (no memory of when the many different drops were last administered...)
ReplyDeleteWishing your Dad a speedy recovery.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
PS Is it windy where you are?
we are glad the surgery went well and you are the bestest nurses ever ;o) my granny was not a good patient, she kicked my grampy with her feet when he tried to maneuver the drops in her eyes, so their hired a neighbor who was a nurse once and the granny was not brave enough to kick her too.
ReplyDeleteWe cross our paws for all people and pets in the storm area and today we will remember with you and we never ever will furget that day...

ReplyDeleteI was sure you would be a good nurse, Madi. I think gathering in the blogging office and listening to Pandora sounds like a great post-op procedure!
ReplyDeleteWatching your weather on my phone and TV! And you are right, we will never forget. Our neighbor Jim was putting small flags out all over our little community when we came back from dinner last night.
I might have to hire you Madi if they ever get around to doing my ankle surgery.
ReplyDelete911 was the scariest day I can remember. I was on my way to work. When we got to work a lady had a TV and we watched the towers crumble. I stood in the hall and cried.
that storm is one scary thing right now, more powerful than they first thought, hope you and your family will be safe, there are many blog friends in the path of Florence. losing power is always a bad thing... Madi you look really comfy on stool or chair... I am wondering why dad had a patch. bob and I had both eyes done and neither of us had a patch, only the clear plastic sleeping thingy.....

If you all want to drive to safety in Michigan, we've got room for you! Here's hoping the weatherfolk have guessed wrong, and your place will be okay. 9/11 will always be a day of mourning.
