I discovered fun-gis are here today, gone tomorrow, August 14th.

Today, August 28th, is our daughter's birthday.
This was her first official portrait taken at 2 and 1/2 months. She has been a ray of sunshine in our lives since 8/28/71. Her Dad nicknamed her Big M (sometimes he can still get away with calling her that).

When she was a toddler, she hated to take a nap. She always asked how long she had to sleep? I'd say about 'two hours' which was an eternity to her. As she got older, she would tell us she loved us '2 hours (because to her that was a LOT) and a bunch'. Her smile still lights up a room and she is an amazing young woman.

Madi shared this post on March 11, 2018..which was also Madi's Sweet 16

Before we knew it, Big M was having her Sweet 16 birthday
with her bestie Kathy

I am not the first girl to turn 16 in this house.   Lo and behold my Sis aka Big M as dad called her for a very long time, turned 16 here too.  So I send Big M aka Human sissy a big thanks for all she taught them.
They both had all the same friends so they shared their 16th bday at
Pizza Hut.  Sissy's bday is August 28 and Kathy's September 5.
They met in 7th grade..instantly becoming best friends.
Such a sight to see also..
At the time Marlu was 5'1" to Kathy's 5'9"
by the time they were in high school they both had growth spurts.
Marlu was 5'2" Kathy was 5'11"

We feel the need for speed!!! NOT!!!

Sweet 16 tshirts.

😍💖😻
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR DAUGHTER ON THIS HER 49TH BIRTHDAY
WE LOVE YOU TWO HOURS AND A BUNCH

Thankful from Rocky and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday #35

My Ginger Nephew Rocky and his Mom have a great big
THANKFUL THURSDAY Message.

Last week during Rocky's snip, chip and clip event his favorite Vet Tech,Miss Tara, took
extra blood to send to a special lab for Feline Leukemia re-testing.
On Tuesday August 25, 2020 .....at 3pm I received this email from Rocky's Mom Kit

Vet tech just called: Rocky’s results are NEGATIVE!!!
❤️❤️❤️
I’ve been crying tears of joy!!!

Side note from Mom Kit regarding the first weak positive
many months ago.
It concerns me greatly that vet suggested euthanasia for weak positive...I was so shocked that day, so I agreed, but  Dad of Rocky objected profusely, saving Rocky’s life.

Today we join Two  SPOILED CATS
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

Here is today's inspiration

What a beautiful arrangement of succulents...the white Gnome spoke to me.

Oh if I were a Gnome
I'd be forever happy
to call this HOME.
It might sound sappy
Multilevels to roam
So much to see I'd never be alone.

Happy Tuesday Tale

Earlier this year I started a subscription to "Blocks" an Idea Book from
Missouri Star Quilt Co. I learned to quilt watching You Tube Videos by Jenny Doan
from Missouri Star Quilt Co.  In the most recent issue of Blocks, on page 39,
I found a very intriguing idea:  Holiday Gifts from the Heart:  Quilt as you go 2 1/2" Hexagon
Tree Skirt. My readers know I consider 'rules' as just a  'suggestion'.  My Mind's eye decided to
use this pattern to make Holiday Table Runners.

The collage below shows what is needed for the project.
#1. your choice for backing fabric, and a package of 5" pre cut squares
#2. Shows tools needed for this project:
White fabric is batting, red fabric will be my backing fabric, 5" sq. from pre cut package.
pins and a rotary cutter, yellow hexagon template set ordered from Missouri Star Quilt.

#3 above cut one large hexagon from backing fabric, cut 2 small hexagons,1 of batting, 1 of precut sq.layer the 3 hexagons as shown upper left.
#4. The small hexagon batting and 5" sq go in the center of the red backing fabric.
Go around the hexagon  folding the red over the two smaller hexagons. You will fold twice
last fold will hide the raw edge.  Pin as you go.  Sew around the pinned hexagon securing all edges as shown on the left side of picture 4.

I determined I needed 13 hexagons for a small table runner for the center of the table.
#1.Arrange hexagons in a pattern you like.

Picture 2 above sew one row of hexagons together using a zig-zag stitch
Continue sewing the next two rows, each row will have more edges to to connect

Project #2
Another throw pillow.   All of mine were quite old and
as I have discovered throw pillows in stores are $$$
I call this one my all season pillow
Festive stripes, red, white and blue stars and route 66 on the front

On the flip side I have fall acorns and cardinals on holly branches and
Ski lodge fabric.
