Crafty Caturday

I spent the morning making mats for the porch chairs.  We love the table and chairs, perfect size for porch. However I wanted chair mats for them but there are no ready made mats anywhere near this shape. For some reason (even though the edges of the chairs bare most of the tushie weight) about 3/4's down on chair #2 the welding of the seat broke loose and snags one's clothes.  Thus I had to make mat #2 a tad larger to cover up the ragged edges on #2 chair.  I used 2 place mats on each chair for thickness. Cut placemats out by trace pattern, sewed edges together.

I used double bias tape as ties.  Only thing I had to buy for project was place mats which were $8.00 total.  The placemats are a combo of vinyl and cloth. I think they are strong enough to keep the ragged edges from breaking thru.  We hope is to find someone who can weld the #2 chair seat back together, in the meantime we can both sit at the table w/o fear of tearing our pants or our tushies.😂😁😀

Nature and Feline Friday

Nature in my back yard and neighborhood

Photo taken September 10, 2021
This pansy and the greenery below it were planted Fall 2020.  There were more pansies.  Finally there was nothing except soil in the planter.  Then
all of a sudden the greenery returned about a month ago  along with an itty bitty pansy bud.  Nature is amazing!!

Photo taken September 11, 2021 on a very EMW (early morning walk).
I heard a hawk in the trees turned to look just as it flew over to the roof of the house.  Then (top right) it flew over to the street light post making a perfect landing.

you may biggify the collage for a closer look at this handsome Hawk.

Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday #36

 Today we join

When I can see beautiful sunrises like this, I'm thankful for cool early mornings for walks.   About 2 blocks from home, I noticed the eastern sky was a blaze.  I knew exactly where I needed to go to watch the sunrise.  I'm very thankful I made it to Valley Estates Drive just in time to see the sun peeping over the horizon.

Angel Sammy and Teddy for the inspiring photos they find for us
Here is our inspirational photo is

Fishing
Once my Daddy took me fishing.
He gave me two simple rules,

#1 No talking.
#2  Be Patience.

If I followed them, he promised, fishes
would swim to me in schools.
When my DNA was being formed,
I received a mega dose of Talking
When it was time to receive Patience,
I missed the announcement
'Cause I was TALKING!

Speaking of the great out of doors
I meant to add this to the post about the bears yesterday.
My nephews and their staff live on 35 acres, bordering national forest.  They have bear proof trash cans and always take their feeders down, except this one time. They try to be very good neighbors to the critters since it was the critter's home first.

Happy Tuesday with Cody

Hosted by Comedy Plus

Seeing this handsome dog makes me happy on any day

Cody is my absolute favorite dog in my neighborhood.  You've seen Cody many times on my blog.  Everyone in the 'hood knows Cody...he almost 14 years old and a legend.

He is a Great Pyrenes and Newfoundland mix.  He was rescued form a shelter when he was about a year old.  His has lived his very best life in our 'hood.  He NEVER barks. When he was a young whippersnapper, he and mom jogged all over the 'hood.  He makes friends everywhere.  Cody is a very big dog.  His body has slowed down, his daily activity is sitting here at his drive way waiting for his fan club members to pass by.  On a good day he will stand when he sees you.   Photos taken early morning September 10th and 11th, 2021

First photo below Cody comes to say hi

I always stop, tell him how handsome he is and rub his very soft head.

Cody always walks a few steps with me.  I turned to see him looking. Words cannot express how happy I am to see Cody any day of the week.

Dearest Auntie HiC

Mom stays busy all the time.
Even when she isn’t physically active, her mind is racing. 😹
We've tried to show her that “productivity” needs to balanced with rest and relaxation.
We demonstrate the relaxation technique regularly.

Today, she decided to take our  advice
Dearest Feline Nephews,
I love the demo!!  Well done Kat and Rocky are you two for hire...or better still maybe Auntie needs to take a road trip to your Hill

FYI: My header photo is one of the many fun fall displays at Logan's Garden Shop. I added the Owl border and photoshopped Madi onto it.
