Saturday Symmetry: Fences and Gates

At first glance, on an EMW,  I thought there was a string of lights on the fence.
But nope it is a water hose?!

Saturday, April 29, I posted this

photo is from a trek in the 'hood

Some people feel a need to cut their Crepe Myrtle trees back way too much
It is good to prune them but we call this

Crepe Murder to the Crepe Myrtle
Many of you thought Crepe Murder was appropriate.

On my EMW (early morning walk) on Sunday, May 1
I went by to check on the tree.

Today's photo was taken on June 17
As you can see,  it is full of leaves.  No buds yet.
Probably due to the severe pruning it won't bloom as early as
more mature trees that were not severely pruned.

Crepe Myrtles love hot humid weather.
In June, they show off with beautiful blooms.
This is a photo of our Crepe Myrtle

Speaking of Crepe Myrtles one of ours had one branch so heavy with blooms
my resident garden had to cut them to keep the limb from breaking
He put the cut limbs in the flower pot out front for a pop of temporary color

Dearest Auntie HiC
Psssst, can I tell you a secret?

As much as I love napping on Dad’s lap,

I must say Mom's tummy is much softer.
Love from you Nephew Kat

😹😹😹😹

Dearest Tabby Nephew Kat....
first of all you look absolutely precious!
In spite of the name, mouth of the south, that my northern cousin gave me many moons ago,
I can keep a secret!!  I will zip up my lips and throw away the key.

Thoroughly Poetic and Thankful Thursday #74

  Two SPOILED CATS,

Angel Sammy and Teddy find such inspiring photos for us

This is our picture prompt

Are they brothers by blood
or from other Mothers?
Their faces tell us all we need to know.
They share a love of wheels and fun
in the sun

Thank you Brian for hosting
Most of my  life I have been impatient person.
However, as I have aged I am thankful that my
patience has aged like a fine wine.
For several months, I've had my eye on one of these adorable kitty plaques at Logan's. Patience and maybe a tad thriftiness
paid off.   Last week I had a 25% off coupon at Logan's for one non-sale item.
Finally I could justify buying it.
I have named her Cali...
Each time I see her I'm happy!!

#2.
I was up with the roosters yesterday had several cups of coffee  and OMCs Patience and caffeine paid off. I was second firstie at 8:17 am yesterday.  Ingrid was first firstie

Eagle in the Garden art section of Logan's

Batman hangs from a tree about 2 blocks from home.  I saw it on an EMW. I saw the shadow first gave me a bit of a fright.

Happy Tuesday

Dearest Auntie HiC

Last week was hot here in Georgia.  Feels like 112 one day

Kat and Pup prefer to be inside, near an A/C vent, but I like to keep an eye on the birds and squirrels.
I’ve found a comfy spot on the screened porch, under the ceiling fan.

The hummingbird feeders must be cleaned and refreshed frequently in these hot temps!
Flash,  the male hummer,  gets impatient, and gets his feathers all ruffled, ha!

Mom got a wonderful video of Mr. Hummer too

Uh oh! Mom caught me napping on the job! 😹

Dearest Ginger Nephew
What a pose you have in that first photo.  That needs to be on the cover of GQ or Cat Fancy.
Uncle and I loved that hummingbird video.  WOW you do have an up close observation chair.
Give your videographer a raise.  You deserved a nap snoopervising hummers and humans is a hard task

Awww Monday and Sparks

 Thank you to our

Gretchen and Daisy live with some friends we met at Seaboard Café.

Gretchen is a miniature red longhaired
Daisy is miniature longhaired  a Piebald *

*The piebald Dachshund pattern is growing in popularity. They have a white or cream coat with patches and spots in another, darker color. Dogs with this pattern are similar to all other Dachshunds in terms of size and physical traits

Reflections on Father's Day

This arrived on Wednesday afternoon.  Our daughter knows us very well.   She is a nut(ty) Lover just like her Daddy

Sun just peeping through the trees such a pretty reflection on the neighbor's house
to me the sky had a painted look rather than a photo look.
