Symmetry Saturday

We are continue our walks five days a week. OUTSIDE the mall all around the parking decks
and parking lots.

These photos were taken yesterday, March 20, 8:30 am.
Top two feature the resident crows trying to
Socially distance themselves from the paparazzi  aka me.
They were squawking too.  Top right is a pretty good photo of them
fleeing.  I don't normally capture birds flying...
There are a few cars of the employees of many cafes that are trying out
curbside service only.

Parking deck outside the food court at the mall.
All cafes inside the mall are closed.

Today is Frisco's 4th Birthday

I, Mia, really do love my brother from another Mother...
his ginger furs match the patch of ginger in my furs
and I especially like hanging around with him!!

This is a photo of us with Frisco on the first day we met him
He was ~ 12 months old then
Mia was adopted about 2 months after this photo.  It was estimated she was
about 2 years old at adoption.

Many of you know we walk ~1 hour 5 days  week.  This winter the weather has been so mild we have been walking mostly outdoors at the mall.
When it is raining we walk under the deck.
Two photos from last week.
They are straight out of the camera..just added to the collage.
I really like the gray tones!!

Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday #12

Thankful Thursday with Brian and his Siblings

Soldiers, Fire, Police, EMS and all who serve and Protect

Today we join Two  SPOILED CATS
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

Here is today's inspiration

Sand...

In your hair and in your chair.
Sand everywhere including your derriere .
This beautiful picture is enough for my mind's eye!!
Me, myself and I
will trek to where the hills meet the sky.

Hemlock Bluff Nature Preserve Part II

If you missed Part I click here.

What would Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve be without a Hemlock

close up of the branches and the itty bitty Hemlock pine cone

This was the first sign we saw as we approached the trails.
Thankfully we did not encounter any critters except the Squirrels.

Along the way we stopped at the overlooks too..

Along the way we learned Fire fuels regeneration
Routinely the forest service has controlled burns....

The morning was gorgeous...
it was too early for most of trees to have leaves but boy are they tall.

We had the trail to ourselves except for a 3 small children and their mom.
They took the trail to the right...we took one to the left...
To quote Robert Frost in his poem, The Road not Taken

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

We had a most melodious serenade by all kinds of birds on this trail

We heard the rat a tat tat of woodpeckers

 Only the shadow knows
 whose home this might be

As I mentioned no leaves on the trees but so many interesting shapes and trunks.
I'll share those on Hemlock Bluff Part III

Happy St. Patrick's Day

FSG, a dear friend of mine found out about my obsession with buttons.
She sent me an envelope full of Shamrocks of all sizes and materials.
Once again I had a few squares sitting around collecting dust...
so you know me I must use them.
The pattern for the squares is the abstract kitties.
The shamrock in the middle is a regular plastic button.
The 3 on the red kitty are fabric that I attached on top of a few of
the flowers.

Angel Madi often sat up at the head of the master bed right in front of the
shams.  This might be a tad busy; however,  I'm thinking this pillow's home
will be on the bed.  Then again it is mobile so who knows where you might see it.
The colors are good for several places.

Selfies, Moon, Old Glory, Ruby the Camellia

I thank my former co-worker and very good Pal, Janice, for these photos.
Last Sunday night I rec'd this email from Janice:

Hey saw this flag flying while eating dinner in Clayton and the moon on way home.  Thought you might be able to use them - both taken with my phone.
I replied:
WOW absolutely these are gorgeous!!

Full moon and blue skies

Queen Ruby our Camellia has been delighting us with blooms since
early February.  These next three were taken 10 am March 11, 2020
